Chapter-1

Eighteen Years Later / Mae Wilson.

I ran and ran until sweat beads drip down my forehead, The pounding beat I felt against my chest due to my heart while I kept running down the sidewalk. The sun glazing down added to my body heat and sweat.

I loved it

Returning home from my usual jog, I take my earbuds out shaking off the muscle tension in my legs knowing my exercising is complete for today. I felt good working out and bright then I head inside desperate need of water. Entering the empty kitchen, I opened the fridge grabbing a bottle of water.

I drank it until it was empty and tossed it into the recycling bin underneath the countertop. My mom loves the world's environment, so she forbade's us to never harm it whatsoever.

Unfortunately, my father doesn't like to listen to my mother at all what keeps me frowning at their relationship is when he looks at her with total distaste or without a care in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if my dad is having affairs, they haven't shown love for one another in months.

It hurts me seeing my parents like this...

Speaking of which, my mother, Regina enters the kitchen holding an empty teacup as she holds a book in the other. Of course, me being the only child, I inherited her honey-colored hair, petite frame covered with creamy tan skin, and my father... his dark grey eyes.

I smiled "Hey"

She looked at me with a cordial grin "Hey honey, you like a sweaty mess" teasing

I giggled "Wanna hug?" She playfully grimaced,

"I would rather eat a rotten chip" I laughed faking a pout

"I'll go shower" About to exit the kitchen "Where's dad?" I asked curiously.

She sighs refilling her teacup "He's working late" her voice had bored laced in it, I frowned keeping silent. I continued to travel to my bedroom needing a shower, A cold one.

I always wonder if I was an accident that they were forced to stay together because of me, and they just kept their mouths shut and dealt with my presence but that's speculation.

I'm afraid to ask or afraid to know the answer.

However, my relationship with my mother is pretty sane and close, so I'm probably just overreacting here.

An hour later, I finished with my shower as I sit on my bed only wearing boy shorts, a loose crop tank top, and the towel sitting on my head, Since I graduated my college plans are set in the future, I just wanna enjoy life, get a job and explore.

Possibly live on my own.

Hearing a text pop in, I pick up my cell seeing Jake's name as I feel my heart race, He still gives that effect on me and I love it. We've been seeing each other for the past year and a half,

But sadly my father doesn't accept of our relationship, in fact, dad hates Jake with a passion and I have no clue why, Jake's sweet, a gentlemen, and caring however there's no changing his mind, Even mom is confused, and she loves Jake,

It's weird.

'When can I see you, baby?' He texts.

I sigh dreamily "Soon, I miss you... hopefully tomorrow"

'Just as long your dad isn't there and I miss you more'

I frowned at his message, It sucks that dad doesn't accept him, It makes things harder between us. I slipped on a large shirt and left my bedroom for some food and when I entered the kitchen again, There he was...

My father late as usual as he pours himself some wine at the counter and when he spots me, his eyes scan my appearance with a look that always made me shiver with coldness,

I hated it for years... I think when I turned sixteen he started to look at me in certain ways. His odd stares made me feel so uncomfortable that I wanted to scurry away... Unfortunately, I live with him and I'm so baffled why he keeps sending those unnatural stares, Body language--he's not supposed to do that, especially not with me.

A daughter shouldn't feel that way towards her own father. He even had his own dominant aura that I felt causing my tail to cower between my legs.

I tend to ignore it but somehow it still effects me in every way.

My father and I's relationship wasn't like with mom, We fight, throw heated angry glares at each other from time to time due to our differences, He's never fair

My dad, Kyle...

Always gets what he wants.

Chapter-2

Mᴀᴇ Wɪʟsᴏɴ

My typical encounter with my father had its odd toll instead having a full serving of food I only grabbed two granola bars and water however I went to bed still hungry and had the uncomfortable lingering feeling, I'm actually glad and relieved he works late, however, our encounters are still unknown to everyone else... There's really nothing to report to anyone of course.

I call my father and I's relationship, The Oddly

Odd is the perfect word to describe my father. It's morning as I finished dressing which was high waisted shorts and cropped t-shirt, Since school is finished for now it wouldn't hurt to search for a job and speaking of which, A cute little coffee shop Jake and I love going to every week as I come to hope is taking any job offers.

The only way to find out, I grab my bag heading downstairs to the kitchen only to find dad! sipping on his coffee leaning against the counter, He's to be at work by now why the sudden change?

"H-Hey dad" I greet awkwardly

Then again, His dark ashy eyes roam my appearance with... lust? what the hell?!

"Hi, baby girl... I missed you, so I thought I go to work a little later" He pushes himself off the counter walking slowly towards me, Uh-oh!

Once he reached me, Dad embraced me into a hug causing me to faintly gasp, His hug was firm and tight, wasn't filled with love or care but with... possessiveness, want, and claim.

I didn't like it

"Um dad... you're hurting me" I mumbled as his arms tightened more

He inhaled before letting go

Uh...

I gulped as he cups my face, I let him because he's my father after all.

"Sorry baby girl... I didn't mean too" He replied huskily. I shivered from the look he gave me and I awkwardly smiled really wanting to get out of this odd situation of ours, Whenever dad and I ever randomly obtain a quiet moment, He takes the chance to embrace me and I let him do it.

Still crosses my mind why he does, I am so uncomfortable right now! So abnormal.

"Um, dad-"

"We talked about this, Mae"

I internally groaned I hated calling him that--didn't feel right for some reason "I-Uh have to go... daddy" Muttering lastly

He looked satisfied now "That's my baby girl, I love you" kissing my forehead. There it is, the love and affection he never gives my mother.

"I love you too, Daddy" I finally left the kitchen with my head down and scurried outside and away from the awkwardness. I shivered jogging to my car now that was something to feel oddly about...

See what I mean.

My father gifted a black Audi R8 on my birthday a year ago and of course, it's become my baby ever since I got in quickly starting the ignition peeling away from the house without looking back. It felt relieving to get away but unfortunately, it can only last so long,

I live there.

Minutes past and I arrive at the coffee shop and as usual, it's busy as ever leaving me to chuckle, People stare at my car with awe and envy as I step out hurrying inside. I held my bag close heading towards the counter.

My time at the coffee shop did take its time due to the customers and preparing of drinks and appetizers and sadly when I talked to the manager they currently had no job openings however they mentioned to call if any openings were available.

I frowned.

But that didn't stop me from ordering my usual sitting at the window booth pulling out my phone. I fiddled with the cell staring out the window blankly, What occurred half an hour ago still sends a chill down my ovaries.

A grimace appeared on my face,

I can never subside the issues but somehow I'm gonna need to address them soon. I'm getting uncomfortable just thinking about it. Minutes after I called my best friend she arrives sending me a smile taking a seat.

"Hey, So what you are doing here?" She chirps!

I didn't want to tell her about my odd encounter with my father, so I faked a smile instead "I tried to apply for a job here but sadly they had no openings" Shrugging

Misty frowned "That's too bad, Mae can I do anything?"

I smiled at her kind gesture "You can buy me a chocolate chip muffin?"

She giggled "Okay I need a drink anyways" leaving the table, I thanked her, and I powered on my cell seeing no new texts from Jake, I frowned missing him already.

After my hangout with Misty, I returned home expecting to be alone I failed to realize to see my dad hanging out in the den as I pass by scrolling through my phone.

"Mae" His low nonchalant voice made me pause in my tracks.

"Yes da--daddy" I reply almost messing up

"Come here"

I sighed heading inside where dad was, and he was sitting on the sofa busy on his laptop, I stood there waiting.

"Are you forgetting something?" He asks making me confused.

"Um... no," I say softly, What does he mean? He finally looks up at me and again he roams my figure causing me to become uncomfortable. I wanna hide in my room.

Dad sets aside his laptop "Come here" He leaned back gesturing to his lap. I blushed shaking my head "Dad I'm eighteen, I'm a little old to be sitting on your lap"

"Now Mae" His eye turning dark, I sighed complying sitting across his lap. This is embarrassing and I'm red as a tomato.

He wrapped his arm around me while I look down at his dark gaze "What is it, daddy?" I asked.

"You're not wearing the gift I gave you, Did you lose it?" His tone was sharp that gutted into my memory realizing what he's talking about, I gasped shaking my head.

"N-No I just misplaced it in my room but I'll wear it first thing," I say timidly

He sighed a little irritated as I squirm a little in his lap.

"I paid good money for that Mae, I need you to take care of it" He scolded me like a child, and he was somewhat true, It looks very expensive and beautiful... I do need to take better care of my stuff.

"I know and I'm sorry... Please don't be mad" I whisper not liking my dad angry... he tends to scare me.

He tucks a strand of hair behind my ear "Just as long you get the picture" I nod being very timid around him.

Dad pats my side hip and I finally got off feeling better "I'll go put it on right now" I picked up my bag again ready to leave. "Mae"

He called out again, I held my tongue looking back at him.

"I love you, Babygirl"

I smiled "Love you too, Daddy" I was about to leave but when I watched him stood, Dad, approached me cupping my face then slowly leaned in to kiss my forehead. Of course, how could I forget?! When he pulled away he suddenly stared at me for a few seconds very oddly.

Huh?

I innocently stare back

"Goodnight, Mae" He breathed swiftly passing by me like the wind. That was very weird and I continued my journey to my bedroom finding the gift dad bought me for after my graduation.

It was underneath my scattered notebooks on my bed.

I sighed speculating the gift and putting it on.

It's a beautiful golden necklace with a ballerina pendant hanging from the chain with a sparkly diamond on top and I remember the words he told me very seriously when dad gave it to me.

"Wear it at all times... I mean it Mae"

Chapter-7

Mae Wilson

Today's the day my mom goes away to her business retreat and no matter how many times I want to tell her about the exchange that down between my father and me but something always tends to interrupt the moment.

After the announcement which was yesterday, I managed to avoid dad at all costs, and Jake sent texts wondering if I was alright including apologies, and of course, I replied with assuring my safety

So trying my fourth attempt, I knock on mom's bedroom door glancing both ways, "Come in!" She hollered

I entered closing the door behind me, she was hastily going back and forth to her closet and suitcase that was placed on the bed, "Can we talk mom?" Asking with hope

"I would love to sweetie but my flight leaves in twenty minutes, can you grab my toiletry bag in the bathroom" She stuffs folded clothes into the case

I slumped my shoulders releasing a sigh complying to her request and gave it to her.

"Thank you" she chirps still packing

"Please mom, I really need to talk to you" My voice pleaded

Why won't she listen!

"Of course honey, what is it?" Briefly pausing

I let out a breathtaking a seat on the bed "Okay-"

Ring!!

Her cell phone began ringing causing me to close my eyes in frustration as she answers,

"Yes?... What!... Are you sure?" Holding up her left wrist that held a Rolex watch "Alright, my ride should be here any minute... Okay bye, sorry honey but it looks like our talk is gonna have to wait, my flight is leaving ten minutes early" Quickly saying zipping up her suitcase

My stomach dropped knowing I need to be quick or think of another strategy

"But mom this is important! Can I at least come with you!? It can be like a little getaway for both of us" I nervously chuckle standing up

She looked at me briefly with amusement "Don't be silly, Mae this is my job I'll practically be working most of the time and you need to stay here, look after your father... He can be pretty helpless when it comes to making meals and cleaning and whatever you have to say im sure you'll be fine, your a strong ambitious women" mom finished kissing my forehead

Honk, honk!!!

I frowned watching her grab the bags quickly and leaving the room, I followed mom downstairs as she opens the front door, I'm not gonna give up so I continued to follow her outside.

My gaze found aunt Brooke's car still running and Aunt Brooke opening the trunk, I frowned joining the two.

"Mae! Baby" Aunt Brooke chirped pulling me into a hug

"Hey aunt B I missed you"

She looked good with her petite small curvy figure as she wears skinny jeans and a t-shirt, I see aunt Brooke rarely due to living lengths, however, she and dad never saw eye to eye.

Aunt Brooke hates dad with a passion and I still don't know why, whenever I ask she keeps changing the subject so I let it be.

"Me too baby so how's Jake?" She asks pulling away playing with a strand of my honey-colored hair "He's great" I faked a smile glancing at mom as she heads for the passenger side

"Let's go Brooke I don't wanna miss my flight"

Suddenly I felt another presence behind as aunt Brooke's soft gaze formed hard looking behind me while I followed seeing dad,

"Hey little one, long time no see" dad spoke

"Kyle, Still living and breathing... Unfortunately" Brooke muttered but made sure dad actually heard it. I sighed moving towards mom not wanting to get involved

I heard dad chuckle as they start bickering in a calm matter.

"Mom if you'd please listen" I mumbled standing in front of her. She digs through her purse

"Come on, Brooke!" She yells above my head then looks at me "I would love to hear but I really need to go, mae... Why won't you video call me when I get settled into my hotel" she comfortably rubs my shoulder then Brooke joins opening her door.

They start getting in

"Mom, mom" I repeated softly as she slides in closing her door

"I'll call you when I land, I love you sweetie" Mom blew kisses once she lowered the window and started reversing,

I frowned watching the car and aunt Brooke waves bye as they drive away leaving dad and me alone.

That went successful... Sarcastically speaking

I closed my eyes squeezing them shut and started stomping inside the house without giving dad a single glance knowing he's already following me as I entered the kitchen needing something to drink.

Can't believe she didn't listen! I'm her daughter for goodness sake I should be the top priority and not this stupid trip! I felt like crying but what good would that do!?

Once I obtained my drink, I turned to find dad already staring at me at the kitchen entrance looking stoically blank crossing his arms.

I gulped needing a distraction

"You're grounded" Dad blurted

My eyes averted quickly towards him "What?" I blinked. He started to come towards me like an alpha male.

"You heard me, you are grounded till your mother gets back-"

"She won't be back for a month!" I exclaimed in anger

"I don't give a shit! You brought that sad excuse into MY house, Mae! What did you think I just let it go! From now on you will stay in this house, no friends, no cell phone or any electronic whatsoever until your relieved" He deeply told with a stern tone

I thinned my lips "That's not fair!" Retorting

He chuckled backing me up against the counter making everything tense "What I say goes when your living under my roof... Give me your phone" His eyes were like knives cutting into my soul like nothing

"Please dad, I need my phone" trying to plead

"Now!" He barked, I flinched quickly handing him, my precious baby. Dad snatched it tucking the device into his pocket. I can't believe this I won't be able to have it back until mom returns!

This is such bullshit! Getting a job so I can actually move out from here sounded like a great idea so im planning to start looking then.

I started to storm from the kitchen until dad spoke again

"And Mae?"

I turned to him with the most hated glare "Don't ever think about bringing that little bastard to my house again and as a matter of fact, You're not allowed to see him anymore... I know you like a book, Mae and I won't give it much hope if you want to start looking for a job" His eyes looked at me darkly

I furrow my brows wondering what he meant it's like he can read my thoughts or something so instead of replying, I glared one last time before storming away.

I hate him! And I don't care what he says, I'm still gonna look for a job whether im grounded or not.

Chapter-9

Mae Wilson.

It's been a week since my father grounded me he even took away my damn Audi so I couldn't go anywhere when he went off to work and we lived in a suburb that was twenty minutes away from the city.

And speaking of my damned father, He left for work an hour ago, and thankfully he hasn't tried anything since but our odd situations are still continuing... Unfortunately from time to time, I find dad sleeping beside me when I wake up during the night, I tremble with anxiety.

Since mom left I've come to miss her since we talk from time to time on the house phone.

Currently, I'm sitting outside eating an apple while waiting for the mail to arrive patiently. I'm disgustingly bored and miss my friends as this grounding of literal hell continues.

As I take another bite, I perked up spotting the mailing truck park in front of the house ready to deliver my package I ordered behind dad's back. Once she handed me the box, I thanked her rushing inside quickly cutting the box open revealing the apple smartwatch I ordered from mom's checking account.

Dad will go ballistic if he found out I ordered an expensive device for nothing... Well, it wasn't exactly for nothing.

"Yes!" I exclaimed cheerfully.

Buying another phone would be crazy! So I just bought something small that I can use to call Jake and Misty on and have them help me travel when my dad leaves for work, He's usually gone all-day which helps.

And of course, I asked my mother's permission and mom accepted since she didn't get me a graduation gift like dad did.

After I set everything up including signing in to my account transferring my contacts, photos, and information on the smartwatch I am good to go!

I saw texts from Jake and misty repeatedly popping up asking where I am.

I spent twenty minutes each explaining the mild situation to Misty and Jake about my grounding and asking for help with travel as they both gladly accepted making me relieved and thankful for them.

"Thank you, Misty I'll see you soon" I hung up finding the watch very cool. "Thanks, mommy" Adding with a smile as I start heading upstairs to shower and get ready.

I enter the bathroom removing my clothes and my necklace placing it on the sink then stepped into the shower.

Hopefully, this job hunt will be a success... I know it will! I happily thought.

Minutes later, I finished my shower using the time I had quickly before my dad returns home. Once my shoes were on my feet, a nudge in the back of mind made me feel like I was forgetting something but I shrugged it off hearing Misty's car honk.

Here goes nothing.

• • •

Hours later, I slammed the door closed in anger about what happened today. It was a total waste of time! I went everywhere that people were hiring and they gave some sorry excuse not to hire me.

What the hell is happening!?

"Don't feel too bad, Mae" Misty patted my shoulder as we both head to the kitchen as I put my purse down on the counter.

"I'm just confused and angry that's all" Rubbing my neck then it came to the realization of what I forgot,

My necklace! That's what I forgot to grab after the shower.

"We'll try again tomorrow" She suggested opening the fridge

I sighed "Yeah, I guess" checking the time then my eyes widen in scare noticing my dad is due home any minute!

"Misty! You need to go-"

Suddenly, we paused hearing the front door close indicating my father is home.

Shit!

Misty has the same facial expression as me then we scatter from the kitchen like cute mice in the different exit that was to the right side of the kitchen.

We ran as I remove my leather jacket and shoes with the help of Misty almost making me trip.

"Hurry!" I quietly hiss handing her my shoes and jacket as we reach the front door looking out for dad.

"Mae!?" Dad calls out for me

"What do I do with these?" Misty whispers indicating to my clothes.

"Keep'em, now go!" Hissing

When Misty leaves, I ran upstairs to my room using a quick pace removing the clothes I had on including my watch, replacing them with pajamas.

"MAE!!" Dad yells deeper and louder

Shit! That doesn't sound too good

"Coming!" I reply exiting the bedroom returning downstairs finding dad pacing in the den looking irritable as usual.

What's his problem now?

"Yes, daddy?" I asked innocently

His fuming death stare made me shrunk back In fear and submission.

"Where were you today?"

I gulped "I was here daddy"

Dad stomped towards me and I'm panicking right now, What does he know?

"Don't daddy me! Where did you go today?" His jaw clenched

My mouth turned dry as ever

"H-Here" I trembled

He blitz over like sonic and cupped my head causing me to gasp as dad leans down inhaling my scent making me whimper,

"You showered, you tend to do that when you go somewhere and you are not wearing your necklace... And seeing your friend's car parked down the street says otherwise so quit lying to me and tell me where the hell you went!" Dad barked angrily as hell

I whimpered in fear

"I-I missed my friends so they came over" Answering timidly

"They? You telling me you brought that fucking little bastard to MY house again!" Dad snarled, I whimpered loudly hating this side of dad and I could smell the faint alcohol on his breathe.

"No!" Holding his wrists

Suddenly dad swiftly bent down to hurtle me over his shoulder like nothing. I shrieked as we head to his study as I struggle in my dad's hold.

What's he doing!?

"Dad!" I mewled hitting his back and once we reached the study that I rarely come into since dad gave strict orders not to enter.

The lights were dimmed and it smelt like cigar and alcohol mixed with dad's cologne.

"You disobeyed me and tried to get away with lying in my house and you think I wouldn't find out?" He chuckled evilly

He put me down abruptly and before I could get away, Dad snatched me by the waist tossing me over his lap on the black leather sofa.

I try to get off but dad held me down revealing my behind as I became extremely red as ever.

He's seriously gonna spank me!? What am I six years old?

"Dad stop!" I cried

"Just like old times, Baby girl" He breathed

Old times!? This is my first time ever of being spanked, what is he talking about??

And when his hand spanked me, I yelped in pain from the burn hating the sensation he inflicted on me.

"Dad no!" I mewled

"Disrespecting and betraying me, I will not fucXXXg tolerate in my own house, Mae... Twenty spanks will do since you are a beginner"

Twenty!?

No!!
