The Insane Love

Manasa is a 24-year old college student, who had been studying her BDS at a college in Kothamangalam of Ernakulam district. She is staying with her friend as a paying guest in a nearby hostel. Around 3:00 PM, when she is having lunch with her friends, a strange man enters inside their room. A few minutes later, gunshots are heard from the room. Hearing the sounds, the house owner rushed to the upstairs. The events that they saw in the room, shocked the whole Kerala.

Manasa and that strange man is lying dead in a pool of blood. The house owner reports this to the police.

What happened in that room?” “Who is Manasa? Who is that strange man? What did you all do by watching this? Let’s see who is Manasa and that strange man.

FEW MONTHS BACK:

KANNUR, KERALA:

Manasa is the daughter of a Traffic Inspector Rajendran Nair, who belongs to Kannur district of Kerala. She had been studying her BDS in the Indira Gandhi Dental College of Kothamangalam, working as a House surgeon. After finishing M.B.B.S, one have to take an Internship for one year to get the practical exposure, for which they would be posted in several places for doing service. Henceforth, Manasa had been staying along with her friends as a paying guest.

And the strange guy’s name is a 29-year old man Nagoor Meeran. He too belongs to the same Kannur district of Kerala. His father Ahmed Naseeruddin is a Gynecologist, working in a private hospital of Kannur. While, his mother Zareena was a homemaker. Nagoor’s younger brother Rahul Khan is doing his post-graduate course in Cardiology. Nagoor have completed his school and college in Kannur and then, finished a course in Surgical Instruments and Neurology in Bangalore. For one year, he had been working as a surgeon in KMCH hospitals of Coimbatore district.

He returned to Kannur for a gap of leave. Although Manasa and Nagoor belongs to Kannur, both of them met in Instagram. Starting their conversation in Instagram, they met each other in Kannur.

“Hi. I am Nagoor.” He introduced himself to Manasa.

“Myself. I am Manasa.” They both shook their hands. The duo became close friends sooner. During the birthday of Manasa, Nagoor came with a flower and proposed his love by stating: “Manasa. I love you. The day I met you in Instagram, I fell for you.”

She was taken aback initially. She eventually reciprocates his love. To spend more time with Manasa, Nagoor resigned his job as a surgeon in KMCH of Coimbatore and returned to Kannur, where he gets a surgeon job in Kannur. The couples started to spend more time together by going to several places of Kerala for one year. During a trip to Idukki dam, Nagoor kissed Manasa’s lips. Removing his dresses, he threw Manasa’s dress asides and they both have sex in the bed and slept in the blanket. The next day, a phone call comes from Nagoor’s friend Pranav, who said: “Hey Nagoor. Where are you da?”

“He is sleeping brother.” Manasa said to which, Pranav said: “Oh ok ma. If he wakes up, ask him to call me ma.”

She agrees and Pranav hanged his call. She suddenly comes across the pictures of Nagoor’s ex-girlfriend Reshika before switching off the phone. Going to the Idukki dam, she confronts about the issue, to which he said: “She wanted me to work as a homemaker, looking after children. That’s why I broke up with her. Men would be respected only, when they earn money.”

“So, you didn’t trust me right? In love, trust is important Nagoor. Not only about your ex-love, you have further hidden some of the facts about your family. You said, you are the only son in your family. But, you have an younger brother too? Why this much lie? And you lied about your job as an Interior designer. Why?”

Hearing this, Nagoor gets furious and lashed out at her telling: “Stop it Manasa. You know how difficult my job is. You are too a medical student only, right? We have lots of stress and job as a surgeon. I lied for your sake only. But, you didn’t even understand me right?”

This heated argument leads to breakup between the couples. At present, ACP Sai Adhithya comes to the crime scene. While the forensic officials, medical examiners and the other police team goes inside the room, with few dogs rushing to the room. Looking at Inspector Joseph, Adhithya asked: “Sir. Did Manasa’s parents come?”

The Inspector bowed his head down. Seeing this, Adhithya asked: “Sir. I am asking you only.”

“Our police have not yet informed them sir.” Adhithya takes Manasa’s friends under custody. While, Rajendran’s fellow constables informed him, “Sir. Your daughter had been shot to death by someone it seems. ACP Sai Adhithya have asked you to come for an official investigation, it seems.”

Manasa’s mother Yasodha is a school teacher working in a private school of Kannur. She sees the news of Manasa’s death in a TV, where the report comes: “Important news. A dentist student had been shot to death by an unknown stranger in her room. Her name and photo is here.” Looking at the photo of Manasa and the name, her mother faints in shock. Her fellow teacher waked her up. She called her husband and asked about the same, to which he said: “It’s the truth.” Her relatives are unable to console her about Manasa’s death.

Meanwhile, Sai Adhithya investigated Manasa’s friend at the police station about Manasa’s death.

“For how many years you know Manasa?”

“Sir. Since two to three months, we know Manasa sir.” One of her friends said to him.

Looking at them, he asked: “How’s her character?”

The police behind watches him as they are recording the confessions. The friends said: “Sir. She is very friendly to all.”

“What exactly happened that day?”

“Sir. We were all having lunch in the room. When eating lunch, that guy came to our room. Seeing him, Manasa was really shocked and she took Nagoor and locked the room. They had a heated argument that turned worse. Within a seconds, we heard three gun-shot sounds sir. Opening the door, we saw Manasa and Nagoor lying dead in a pool of blood.” Another girl said in tears and they further said: “It’s at this point of time, we informed the house owner about this incident. Following this, they came to the upstairs.”

The same time, Rajendran Nair gets the dead body of Manasa and the autopsy-report which says: “Manasa had been shot in her abdomen and in her head. While, Nagoor shot himself[in the head] and died.” He cried in grief and pain, regretting that, “He have failed to save his daughter.” After a few days of Manasa’s death, Adhithya goes to the house of Rajendran in Kannur. Looking at the photo of Manasa, Adhithya said: “Sir. I have to investigate you and your wife regarding the death of your daughter. Since, there are several thing, that’s mysterious to this case.”

Rajendran wiped off his tears and brought his tearful wife. They both sits in the sofa, looked by Adhithya’s fellow police officers, who have a camera and pen in their hands. Adhithya asked: “Sir. Do you know Nagoor before?”

Looking at him for a while, he replied: “How could I forgot that guy!”

“Why should he kill your daughter sir? What’s the conflict between both of them?” As he asked this, Rajendran said: “Sir. Already we are sad with Manasa’s death. Please don’t ask us these questions and embrace us.”

His wife cried to which, Adhithya pays no heed and said: “Sir. Please understand. It’s our duty. Please cooperate with us.”

He holds the hands of Rajendran. Rajendran said, “Manasa and Nagoor loved each other for one year and they later breaks up due to several conflicts with him.” He further opened up what happened after the breakup between Nagoor and Manasa.

FEW MONTHS BACK:

Nagoor have tried to reconcile with Manasa through various ways through Whatsapp chats and Instagram. As he keeps disturbing Manasa by asking her to accept him and promising to rectify his mistakes. Since he had been going beyond the limit, Manasa gets angry and she complained to her father regarding Nagoor.

Since Rajendran was a traffic constable and close friend of Kannur DSP Sadanandham, he takes Manasa and Yasodha to the police station. Nagoor’s family members are also bought to the police station, where DSP Sadanandham said: “Hey young man. In love, these all are common. Manasa doesn’t like you right? If she doesn’t like you, why are you keep on disturbing her?”

As he stared at him in anger, the DSP said: “Don’t disturb her again. If you disturb her once again, then I have to take an official action against you.” Hearing this stiff warning from the DSP, Nagoor’s family assured that: “His son won’t disturb Manasa anymore.” As they gave an assurance and signed the agreement in paper as a conclusion to this problem, both the families part ways, hoping that there won’t be any further issues.

PRESENT:

At present, Yashoda said: “Days later, Manasa changed her daily lifestyle following the breakup sir. She had her friends, had studies, had a planned life and had an own dream to fulfill sir. But unfortunately, she died.” Adhithya consoled them and sent back to their house. Asking permission from the Commissioner, Adhithya meets Nagoor’s family. Nagoor’s parents Naseeruddin and Zareena doesn’t want to tell about his aftermath of life and pleads with Adhithya to stop the investigation.

While, Nagoor’s brother Rahul said: “Sir. I will tell what happened after that case!” Adhithya asked him: “What happened to your brother Raagul?”

Rahul said: “He went into a huge state of depression sir. He was unable to concentrate on his medical duties and started to take drinks. It took time for him to recover from alcohol addiction and stage of depression. A few days later, he said to his friends that, he is going to USA, intending to earn more money as a surgeon so that there are chances to win back Manasa. He informed me about the same in Whatsapp.”

However, his mother asked him to stop all this rubbish and sent him inside the room. While, Nagoor’s father said: “That’s all a total lie sir. Nagoor said us that he is going to USA. Further he told, he have to stay at Ernakulam for one week in order to apply for the Visa and documentation and went to Ernakulam.”

“In real, he didn’t intend to go for USA sir. He intended to meet Manasa in Ernakulam. And, he took a house flat near to Manasa’s house for rent. The house owner initially refused to give him rent for one week. But, he convinced him by lying that he is an Interior designer. Believing him, they have given the house. He have watched the daily activities of Manasa without her knowledge, learning their time, place and location, where they goes. He had been seeing from the balcony’s poster. Putting a hole in the poster using his technical skills, he had been watching her without creating any doubts. He have made a perfect planning and execution.”

“Oh! Your son had technical brilliance too!” said another police officer to which, Naseeruddin said: “He had an immense talent. But, he didn’t use it in a right way. During the same one week period, he have met Manasa for four times and started to talk with her. But, nothing have worked out.” Adhithya learned from Raagul that, “Manasa was further doubtful about Nagoor’s honesty and truthfulness in the future period of time. Since there was no response from Manasa during these one week period of time, he went straight to the PG of Manasa. Knowing that she is staying in the first floor, he went inside. Noting there’s no one present, he stepped up to the first floor, where Manasa and her five friends were having their lunch. Manasa was shocked to see Nagoor. Since, it’s a ladies hostel and how could Nagoor come to that floor by avoiding them. Without making any complications, she took him inside the room and in the heated argument, they both met a tragic death.”

Zareena said in further: “I wonder how Nagoor got that gun sir. And none have noted this gun.”

“May be your son could have kept the gun in his shocks or pocket or behind his pants.” A police officer said, to which Sai Adhithya stared.

“At least ask your second son Rahul to be careful madam.” Adhithya said and leaves along with his fellow cops. However, Rahul stopped them and said: “Sir. I got to see a photo posted by my brother Nagoor’s in Make my trip website. But, I don’t know why he had posted that photo.”

Adhithya got that photo and he was extremely shocked by seeing that photo. The photo is taken, when Nagoor had grew intimate with Manasa during their trip to Idukki district. Further, Nagoor have posted a comment saying: “I had a good experience with my girlfriend Manasa in this hotel. We both had an Insane romance.”

Although puzzled at initial stage, Adhithya realized that, “It’s posted by Nagoor to either blackmail Manasa or to fulfill his grudge against her.”

SIX MONTHS LATER:

He submits the report to the Commissioner and said: “Sir. Nagoor have murdered Manasa unable to bear the love breakup. Also, he have killed himself after making sure that, she have died.”

“These all are okay, Adhithya. How did he got gun to kill her? Isn’t that mysterious?”

Hearing this, Sai Adhithya said: “You doesn’t want to scratch your head for that sir. Because, we have investigated about it.”

The Commissioner looked at him for a while. Searching for words, Adhithya looks at him and said: “Usually guns are kept by Army men, police men and ex-Military. And it’s a factory made gun. Definitely these guns are not made in India. It could come from foreign countries only. For getting this gun itself, they have spent Rupees Four Lakhs sir.”

“Where did they got this gun Adhithya?” Commissioner asked looking at the file. Adhithya took his phone and showcased an Youtube video to Commissioner.

Watching the video, the Commissioner asked him: “Who is he Adhithya?”

“This is Nagoor’s friend sir. He have posted a Youtube video before few months back. Keeping the same gun with him, he have given pose in a forest. Not only Nagoor, there are several people, who were involved in this crime.”

The Commissioner becomes puzzled. Drinking some amount of water, he asked: “So you have got them finally. Am I right?”

Adhithya laughed and said: “I have caught Nagoor’s close friend Vijay Adhithya. Upon confronting Vijay, I was shocked sir. Nagoor, Vijay Adhithya and their friends have went for Bihar. Going there, they have met one person and bought a gun by spending Rupees 4 lakhs. That gun have 7 bullets sir. And in that 7 bullets, Nagoor have utilized 3 bullets. There were 4 bullets remaining in that gun.”

“So, you caught the guy, who gave that gun as well as the friends of Nagoor. Am I right?” Sai Adhithya smiled and said: “Yes sir. The case was cracked and henceforth, I have submitted the evidence to you.” When talking, Sai Adhithya gets a phone call from his daughter, who asked him to come sooner. He agreed to come sooner.

After saluting the Commissioner, he takes a leave. Before going out from Commissioner sir’s room, he said: “Sir. Because of this one-particular incident, the loss is definitely for Manasa and her family. They firmly believed that her daughter would become a dentist one day and would take care of them in future. For Yasodha and Rajendran, it’s a big loss sir. And for Manasa too, it’s a big loss. Since, she had lots of dreams.”

“Then, what about Nagoor? Doesn’t he have any dreams?”

Hearing this, Sai Adhithya laughed and said: “Don’t kid sir. That bastard should have been sent to prison for his unforgivable crime. Till now, I am unable to bear his suicide. I am getting angry. He should have got bigger punishment than suicide.” As the Commissioner looked at him, he continued saying: “Since, he have not done this crime in emotion. He have planned and murdered Manasa. He have went for Bihar and paid 4 Lakhs for getting that gun. Further, he have kept that gun for several period of months. He had done this murder to a terrorist level. It’s not necessary to murder a girl for love breakup sir.”

Observing the eagerness of Commissioner, Adhithya drinks some water and takes a seat again. Now, Commissioner asked: “So, Insane love is always injurious to life. Right?”

“Exactly sir. With this case, youngsters have to learn something. It’s something really important. If they suffer a breakup, they should move on, without spoiling their own life. Further, they must let that girl to move, avoiding distraction. They must think about their family and forget about the breakup. Youngsters shouldn’t spoil their own life and realize that, they are in the 21st century. We should know what to do, in what age to do and what not to do. Thank you sir.” He gets up and moves out.

EPILOGUE:

“From this particular incident, Youngsters should learn a lesson. It’s very important. If you breakup with a girl or boy, please don’t spoil your life and don’t destruct the life of other people. For breakup, whatever reason, it’s okay. That girl have eloped with another man, she have left you, she have cheated you or you have cheated her. Please move on in your life by accepting the fact. Just think about your parents, family, sister and brothers. You too have a life. Don’t destroy your life. Since, we are in 2021. Please learn what to do, what not to do. If someone doesn’t like you, it means they don’t like you. Hence, think and decide. Nagoor was so emotional and stupid in his actions. He behaved like a psycho. This was the main reason for this murder. When Manasa rejected him, he must have thought about his mistakes, twice. When she rejected him more than three times, he should have distanced himself and instead, expressed his anger and grudge. Don’t showcase your anger in love. Even when the love leaves you. The second one is most important. When a person propose love, investigate about their family and his character before falling in love with them. Even if it’s 10 years, it’s okay. Wait and select your match. Please don’t decide your girlfriend by meeting in the Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Since, most of these love were failure in real-life. Think a twice before you fall in love.”
