Unity Is Strength

This is a real story that occurred in a forest region in the place Chipko. The forest was densely vegetated. There were tall trees, different types of shrubs and herbs in the forest. There was diversity of trees and animals. It was enriched with waterfalls which increased the beauty of nature.

This nature was a real preacher to the people living in the nearby village. They used to come to the forest for work and collecting firewoods and twigs. They ate the forest fruits and enjoyed their life. This forest was a real wealth to them. During that time, some rich men from the urban areas came there to convert this forest into an industrial area. So they first wanted to cut down the trees. When they planed this, village people - both men and women came to save the forest trees. They all hugged each tree and never let them cut the trees. So the people who came from the urban area went away without disturbing the forest. So our village people saved their natural wealth and the forest.
