The Unspoken Truth
The Unspoken Truth
Once, there was an 8-year-old girl named Jessica. She was a very shy girl. She never used to speak to anyone. No one knew if she was shy or there was something wrong with her. Not even her own parents. One day her parents found her crying in her room. They asked her if anything was wrong with her. But what she replied was a nightmare.
She said "Go away! or else I'll kill myself," holding a knife in her hand. Her parents got scared. That very same night they found her murmuring something in an indistinct voice. Her mother got scared and thought not to ask her anything and leave her alone.
Jessica kept murmuring something the whole night. Her mother told her father what she had seen. Her father decided to take Jessica to a psychologist the next morning.
The next morning Jessica was taken to the best phycologist in the city. The phycologist first questioned her parents about her. She asked Jessica's mother, "From when has she started acting weirdly?"
Her mother replied, "it has been about 2 years now since she had spoken a word. Yesterday she was crying holding a knife in her hand and asking us to leave."
The phycologist then asked, "Ma'am, was there any incident happened with her?"
Her mother replied, "I am sure that in these four years there has been no incident that happened with her."
The phycologist asked, "Why four years? She is 8 years old, right?"
Her mother replied, "Four years because we adopted her when she was 4 years old. But in the starting, she used to behave normally. We don't know what has happened to her in the past 2 years."
The phycologist then asked Jessica to come into her cabin.
The phycologist greeted Jessica and started talking to her like a friend. After knowing more about her she asked Jessica the reason why she was not speaking to anyone. Jessica replied, "I cannot te
ll you that."
The psychologist consoled her and promised that she wouldn't tell it to anyone.
Jessica said, "I know I was adopted. But I am not sad about it. When I was 2 years old I used to live with my parents. But one day while playing in the garden a red coloured van stopped near me. There was an old man who came out of the van and asked me if there was any grocery shop nearby. I told him the address to the nearest grocery shop. He asked me if I could take him there. I agreed. He took some vegetables and asked me if I could take him back to the garden. I agreed. We both went to the garden. When we reached the garden, he pulled my hand into the van and taped my mouth. I did not know what was happening with me. I kept crying continuously but it was of no use. They made me do wrong things. 1 year passed by. I turned 3. I grew wiser and discovered a way to escape. I escaped and ran here and there searching for a place to stay.
"The next morning after wandering around here and there I found an orphanage home and decided to stay there for 1 year. I stayed there with those bitter memories and then Chris and Henna, who are my parents now, adopted me. After getting a new home for myself I almost forgot about those old bitter memories. But one day when I was gazing at the beautiful trees through the window I saw that same red van pass by. All those memories rewound in my mind. I started crying. I saw them kidnap a girl like they kidnapped me. But what could I do except watching what was happening..."
The phycologist saw tears in her eyes. She talked to her for a long time. She tried to wash off the bitter memories from her mind. But she was unsuccessful.
The phycologist told all this to Jessica's parents. They tried to console her but it didn't help either. It was too late for her to recover from the trauma. Sadly, poor Jessica remained in depression forever.
