To,

The one who forgot me.

Do you remember, the first time we met?

It was the school library, behind those shelves.

While you were busy chit-chatting with your friends, My eyes were glued on you.I found you loyal; the one who'd never leave me.

I prayed; that you would catch a glimpse. But then, you walked past me.

It was that time when I made myself fall, for you to notice.

The first time you picked me up, I felt of some worth, to be existing in the library. We became friends that day.

You never left me alone; be it in school, or during evening walks, or a visit to some relative's place. "You are my saviour," you said.

Those Sundays, when you just lay in your bed with me, our late nights together and, our secrets, are all alive in me.

And your expressions,

from the first time you discovered me,to each time you opened a new chapter,I got surer that you would never leave me.

My pages still have the marks of your tears.I remember every moment when, you just held me in your arms and cried for someone who died.

Or for someone who was betrayed. You always found another universe in me.You loved me, cared for me and never left me alone.

But then, one day we departed. And, you never returned.

Did I ever disappoint you?Did I ever betray you?Was I demanding?

Then! why did you leave me all alone.

For someone else to pick me up and see the marks of your tears, and share our secrets?

I had never thought of this.I had never thought about you replacing me with Kindle and PDFs.

I always thought of us, being together. It is not late, you can still return back.Return back, to the smell of me, your tears, our secrets, everything.

And rekindle everything we have lost all these years.

I will love you more than ever. We will discover another Hogwarts together.

Yours,

The Unpicked book.
