Magnus Nightshade, a typical, mundane schoolkid enters the world of emissaries and investigations in a car crash as an amnesiac. He is alleged for burglary and aids in the retrieval of the embezzled, inestimable object.

His inquisitiveness leads him to an unacknowledged establishment, to detain highly wanted international criminals, where he confronts the cynical, cutthroat marauder one-on-one, with absolutely no training, what so ever.

Chapter 1

I am Magnus Nightshade.

I woke up suddenly with my face down; sweating, my heart racing, heavily breathing and feeling insecure like never in my life. The last thing I remember was heading to school in the morning along the SH-4. After that it was completely blank.

But outside the window it seemed to be early morning, the sun just rising. I was in a modern hospital ward with a cardiac monitor, drips through my fist and bandage dressing on my biceps.

I ripped out the drips-tube and went to take a look at the street. All I could see was forest spreading out heading of me, except on my left was a huge parking lot in front of a massive building of glass and steel, which gave me a strong sense of Déjà Vu.

Suddenly, 2 docs and a bloke with a sleeveless jacket came rushing to me. The docs ushered me to the cot and made notes while examining me. They whispered something to the bloke and went to another ward.

The bloke came forward and asked, “How are you feeling.”

“Pretty beaten up. What’s your name?” I replied

“Tankado. So, tell me about the car accident, Magnus” he asked me.

“What car accident? Is that why I’m in the hospital and I got this injury?”

“If you think acting as if you can’t reminisce the incident is going to get you immunity, forget that coconut head.”

“Immunity? For What?” I asked. What in the world was Tankado talking about?

“Ok tell me the last thing you remember before getting in here.”

“Well… I was walking to school, as usual, stopped at the doughnut shop. From then it its completely blank.” I said. He nodded and called in the docs. They called and asked me the same questions as Tankado and got going after telling him something.

He said “The accident seemed to have caused short-term amnesia. You have forgotten everything for the past week.

Past week? I was on my way to school, and in the blink of an eye, I’m in a hospital.” I asked flabbergasted.

“First symptom of amnesia. And you’re not in a hospital, just the sick bay,” he answered casually.

“Really? When did the infirmary have drips and cardiac monitors?”

“The CIA’s does.”

CIA?! My god! I’m in the CIA headquarters, Virginia!” it struck me, as I had seen pics of the HQ, but never from the inside.

“What am I doing here?! I’m all about anti-terrorism!!”

“We decide that Mister,” Tankado said meticulously.

“What have I done really? I’m just an adolescent.”

“Nothing much. You are the wanted for thievery of one of the most powerful objects on the Planet.
