The Protagonist - Chapter 1

" Beep, beep, Beep !!!!" The alarm rang.

Norma quickly slid the Dismiss button and sat up. 

'6:00 am, Seems like I'll be just on time today' she said to herself. 

She quickly folded up her sheets, made her bed, and scurried towards the bathroom. Just as she was taught to do since she was 7.

Once out of the shower, Norma wore her uniform and fixed her tie.

'Good Morning mother', Norma said as she made her way towards the table.

Then the day went on, as Norma boarded the school bus and reached school.

Norma was a 13-year-old, fair-skinned girl with raven hair and dark brown eyes, just like any Asian. 

School went by as usual, with her being the smart bookworm as usual. Lunch passed by quickly too, with the brunette sitting in a corner as usual, trying hard to avoid conversations.

Norma now returned home, studied till the evening, and then, with a bit of excitement, sat upright on her bed, with the blankets covering her legs and her laptop in hand.

She was gonna do this. even though she never actually used any of her gadgets for a purpose other than studies. just as her mother taught her. 

'Using gadgets for other purposes will lead you to fall back in your studies, never do so'.

Her family was known for their academic excellence. It was a quite strict household whose sole purpose was 'Academics'.

Norma was tired of this. It had been years. 

Ever since she was little, all she knew was to study and study. She was always all alone, just studying and studying in her room by herself.

But today, Norma decided to rebel.

She began reading a novel she found. she checked the information. It was a romance novel.

'Love, romance, they're all fantasies. Live in the reality, Norma !' 

Her mother's words ran through her mind.

"Just for today", she mumbled and shrugged off the thought.

Following this, Norma gradually began reading novels, storybooks, comics, any fantasy she found.

She had her own dreamland. She had a dream now!

"I'll become the Protagonist one day - the protagonist"

Mrs.May, Norma's mother, gradually found about all this. she stopped her access to any of these fantasies. Her life was dull again - there was nothing.

And with the same going on, as usual, Norma completed her Middle School Education.

She could hear the giggles and excited whispers of the other girls. " Everything's gonna be so new and exciting !"

' New? Huh... what's new? It's all gonna be the same.' she sighed.
