Just a Normal Girl - Chapter 1

"Wake up Norma !", commanded Mrs.May.

The command was executed by default and the half asleep girl quickly jolted up, and rushed towards the restroom. 

She quickly brushed her teeth, with her mouth half open, suddenly, realised the time and was fully awaken after the quick shower. she quickly wore her school uniform, a simple half sleeved white shirt with her school logo embroidered on it, and a blackish blue pleated skirt. She quickly glanced out the window, 'It's gonna be quiet chilly today, she thought to herself. 

Then out she ran, nearly tumbled down the stairs, grabbed her backpack, wished her mom goodbye and hurried through the door. Somehow, she managed to get on the bus on time. 

But no, that wasn't it. The bus route was new, and there was not even a single soul she knew there. There sat her 3rd language teacher, but that wasn't of any help. She quickly looked for a place to sit. 

There were a few senior year girls, she thought. 'Maybe them ?' She was quite close with the sister like senior girl in the previous route. But nope, not a chance. The girl placed her girl in the empty seat beside her, signaling her to choose another seat. 

Norma panicked, she usually panicked easily. If she didn't take a seat fast, the teacher and other elders may end up scolding her. Watching her panicked state, a girl, probably about 12- 13 years old, of Norma's age, signalled her to quickly sit beside her. the poor girl, who was on the verge of probably fainting from the pressure, took a breath of relief and sat down.

'Life isn't that easy after all', she thought to herself.

Norma hated first days to school. Making new words, speaking to new people, it was all just so difficult. She envied other girls who did the same with ease.

Hoping to make at least one new friend, Norma tried to start a conversation with the blond haired girl. She wasn't very great with conversations, so she simply complimented her on the colour of hair. 

" Your hair look so great ! It's just like those fairy tales ! ', Norma exclaimed.

No response. She thought, maybe my words offended her somehow.

Despite the weird situation, one part of her, really really urged her to touch the hair once.

'Once, only once' ! Her mind chanted. she squeezed her eyes shut and didn't even realise how her hair reached the blond girl's braid.. 

She internally screamed. 'And here's the start of another year'.

There was no response. But after a moment, she heard a deep sigh.

Huh ? She quickly turned to see the girl facing her, about to speak. she couldn't hold it back this time. She shrieked quite loudly, a bit loud i must say.

She quickly squeezed her mouth shut and turned red. Norma,exe. was about to explode.

"I'm Emma Brown",, the blond said. " And here, take my hoodie, you'll be freeze to death in that thin shirt. You can return it to me at the end of the day. It's fine"

Norma was too shocked and embarrassed to speak anything. She quickly took the hoodie and covered herself up.

"T-th-ank y-ou" , she could hear herself say.

"Its fine" replied Emma. 

And the bus moved on.
