The Primordial Encounter
The Primordial Encounter
I was on a voyage when suddenly, the ocean became rough. We had to rush indoors to avoid being swallowed by the unforgiving ocean. It was common that the Indian Ocean was rough and unpredictable. We hoped that it would end soon. At the very thought of it, our crewmates heard a loud crash that deafened our ears temporarily. The next few seconds felt like an hour. A truculent beast, sly in its movement appeared. It resembled that of a crocodilian, with its skin adorned with scales and colour pitch black. It gave out a loud grumble and then sank into the ocean. Everyone was frozen in shock. Few seconds later, the ocean turned calm. The rest of the voyage was normal – boring as any journey on a ship should be. Although all of us saw the beast with our own eyes, we felt that we mistook something else for an animal. After returning from the voyage a week later, while lounging on the sofa, I found a newspaper article with a headline, “ARCHAEOLOGISTS FIND REMAINS OF MASSIVE SEA CREATURE in the INDIAN OCEAN”.
