It was supposed to be our final day of living. We had already lost our homes and belongings now all we had were each other and there was an enemy whose greed wasn't fulfilled even after snatching the comfort of our homes and our livelihood. They wanted our lives and this was the day that I along with my people ride out and met them. 6000 fine men were riding out with me on their horses with their spears and swords all set to defend their land. Fear gnawed at our hearts and this fear of our's came true when we reached the fields of Pelennor. Gondor the kingdom of the south was now burning and in ruins.
The white city was painted black by fires and red from the blood of its people. The horrors of war were right before our eyes and our hearts faltered. The army of the enemy was right before us stretching as far as our vision could go like the ocean itself. They did to Gondor the same they had done to us, pillage and murder! I could feel my heart getting weak saddened by the scenes before my eyes when the war horn blew, it was a sign that we were indeed going to join the war. Courage! I said to myself, I have to be strong for my friends. " Get ready and fear no darkness! " ordered Theoden son of Thengel, our king. He was leading the charge right from the front.
He went on to touch the spears of the riders in the flank at the front with his sword "Arise! Arise riders of Theoden! Spears shall be shaken, shields shall be splintered "he said. Unlike other kings who were only lords of their own royal halls Theoden was a king of his people and he was now preparing to charge from the front leading his people to their certain death and maybe his own too but he displayed no fear "A sword day! a red day, Here the sun rises! " he thundered '' Ride now! Ride! for ruin and for the world's ending! " he went on " Death!!! " he cried raising his sword, it was a cheer that shook me and woke me up, my king needed me, my friends needed me and I have to answer "
Death!!! " I cheered back " Deaaathhhh! " joined the whole army of 6000 men of Rohan who had assembled here for one reason which was to keep their loved ones safe. " Deaaattthhhh " we all yelled again at the top of our voice, there was a rage building up inside me as I ordered my horse to sprint, a fire was now burning brighter and hotter than ever before, a raging inferno ready to reduce it's enemies to ash and it wouldn't be extinguished as long as I drew my breath. In no time we were charging, all of us together. The army of the enemy released arrows in our directions but they failed to dampen our spirits or to slow us down, the board was set and the pieces were all in motion, we had came prepared for our final day and now we were determined to make it their's...
