Once upon a time, in a small village, there lived a carpenter named Khemchand with his wife Supriya.

Khemchand was very hardworking and used to work for 18 hours a day. On the contrary his wife was a lazy lady. She never kept the house clean. In their village...there was a major electricity problem. The power would be cut every now and then, especially at night.

One day while returning from work... Khemchand saw a ring shining on the ground. He picked it up and went home. There was no electricity, Khemchand removed the ring to show it to Supriya. He accidentally rubbed it, and there was magic. Three fairies were standing in front of them and they were shocked. Supriya lit the candle.

The fairies said ”Don’t worry Khemchand. We are fairies of this ring. We are here to help you. We will grant you three boons. Ask what you want”

Khemchand asked the first wish... he asked for enough money to survive throughout their lives. The fairies granted it. Second wish was asked by Supriya - She asked for a huge bungalow and it was granted. The third and final wish was asked by Khemchand, he said he wanted the bungalow to be made of glass and it was granted. Khemchand had asked for this for two reasons, first if there was no electricity they would still have light from street lights and secondly if the house would be dirty it would be visible to everyone so Supriya had to clean it to save her from being embarrassed..

In this manner clever Khemchand killed two birds with a stone.

So now Khemchand had the money, bungalow and a hardworking wife too..

Moral - Knowledge is wisdom.
