Mr. Frederick worked in the hotel and resort industry. He had an idea to grow his business by purchasing outdated resorts and hotels. As a result, he and his family had relocated to Camibinia. He shared a home with his elderly father, his wife, and their two children, Amelia and Liam. Amelia was 14 years old, and Liam was eight. Amelia had a liking for gymnasium but her father despised it and frequently prevented her from doing so. She never left her passion and she practiced gymnasium on her own.

Camibinia was a lovely town with a small population. Mr. Frederick spoke with the agents there and discovered that tourism had not yet established in the area and that there are relatively few hotels. Mr. Frederick was shocked that, despite its beauty, Camibinia lacked tourists, and he wanted to know why, but there was no satisfactory response. He eventually purchased two old resorts, although they were not as large as Mr. Frederick had envisioned. He wanted a vast area. He intended to make Camibinia a popular tourist destination and to get wealthy.

In Camibinia, he noticed a large vacant space. He wanted to buy it, but no one knew who the owner was. He questioned the agents, residents, and even government authorities, but no one knew who owned the property. It was believed to be a place of disappearing forests. He heard numerous stories from the locals about the disappearing forest. People in the region informed him that thousands of people had vanished in this area. When it rains, this location sprouts trees and becomes a dense forest, attracting people, and the forest evaporates as soon as the rain stops. People who venture within the forest vanish along with the forest. He laughed it off, thinking the people were simply making up stories.

He purchased a lovely home next to the vacant lot. He wanted to take over the property and turn it into a large resort. He was paying close attention to the surroundings. “If no one claims it, I will infringe on it as quickly as possible,” he told himself.

Mr. Frederick's father and son Liam strolled on the vacant land for quite some time every day, despite being advised not to by the neighbouring residents. They didn't see anything improper with the location. One lovely day, Liam and his grandfather were walking and enjoying the solitude when it began to rain. They walked quickly to get home. But then they felt something grow from beneath their feet. Those were trees sprouting at a rapid pace beneath their feet. They were scared and attempted to flee but the trees grew so quickly that they couldn't even move. Amelia was at home when she observed the trees encroaching on the open space. Her parents had gone outside to make deals. It began to pour heavily.

Amelia explored the house and discovered that her younger brother and grandfather were missing. She dashed outdoors into the woods.

She reached in front of the forest and screamed, “Grandpa, Liam, Are you there?”

She received no response. The forest appeared to be enthralling. She thought about the words of the people and rushed inside the forest. Both within and outside the forest, it was pouring severely. She was yelling for her grandfather and brother. She stumbled over a plant and ended up hanging upside down from a tree. She also noticed her brother and grandfather hanging upside down from the tree. They were terrified. Amelia was taken aback to find them in such a state. Amelia was a gymnast, so she knew exactly what to do. She liberated herself, followed by her grandfather and Liam, by releasing their legs. All three descended but they were encircled by pale brown humanoid creatures. They appeared hairless and rubbery.

Amelia turned to her grandfather and remarked, "These are ghouls." I've seen similar creatures on television. They crave human flesh.”

“What do we do now?” asked Amelia's grandfather.

Amelia paused for a moment before saying, "They will devour each other if we successfully deceived them into that."

Amelia’s grandpa was amused by listening to Amelia.

Amelia continued, “Grandpa, you and Liam take off your clothing and cover yourself in moist soil. To fool them, we must impersonate them. Maintain a calm demeanour and don’t panic.”

Amelia's grandfather and Liam began to do what she instructed. The ghouls were perplexed. Amelia took moist soil in her palm, rubbed it against her skin, and quickly ascended on a tree. Her grandfather and Liam were successful in their deception of the ghouls. The ghouls began eating each other in the mistaken belief that they were feasting on Amelia's grandfather and Liam. Liam and Grandpa snuck in between them. The rain had ceased in the forest, and the trees had begun to dry. All of the ghouls had perished, but the last ghoul had grown stronger than before. The ghoul began to approach Liam and his grandfather. Amelia grabbed a dry branch and smacked it on the last ghoul's skull, shattering it. The ghoul was killed.

The trees had now begun to fall and vanish. Amelia's grandfather, Amelia, and Liam had to flee the forest fast. They hurried out of the woods. They noticed that the entire village had gathered there. Mr. Frederick and his wife were sobbing uncontrollably. The forest has vanished completely. They explained what had happened and how Amelia's wit had saved them from such horrible beasts. Mr. Frederick praised and hugged Amelia.

The Vanishing forest was never seen again. The Camibinia government rewarded Amelia for her bravery and gave her that plot of land. Mr. Frederick abandoned his idea to build a resort on the vacant site and instead built a gymnasium school and named it after Amelia.
