Once there lived an old snake in a hole near a mountain. He could not hunt due to his old age and many times he had to stay hungry. One day he hit upon an idea and went to the king of frogs and said, "O king. I want to wash my sins. I will give all of the frog's joy rides on my back till the end of the year."

The frog king was really amazed at hearing this. It was an honor to ride on a snake's back. He thought that it would be the wonder of wonders. The frog king agreed. All the frogs jumped on the back of the snake and the grand joy ride began. After giving the frogs a jolly ride, the snake returned to the bank of the pond.

At his request, the frogs dismounted from his front side. The vile snake gobbled up the last frog who hopped down his head. Thus, it went on. After every joy ride, the snake would swallow down the last one in a quick move.

At last, when all the frogs were eaten up. The king frog said sadly, "Is there no one left? How shall I live alone?

The snake smiled, "Do not worry, O great frog king. You shall not be alone." So saying, the snake gobbled up the great king of frogs too.

Moral: Do not play in the hands of your enemy.
