The Demon That Lives In A Circus

My name is Melly I am a girl of the age of 8 when this started to happen. How about I start this before I died and then continue from there.

               About 2 years ago:

A new circus opens up in town and like many kids I wanted to go. I begged my parents to go even though we are a poor family I would of loved to go but no matter how much I tried my parents wouldn't let me go. I was sad by this fact but something about me wanting to go seem to have upset my parents in a way I didn't think would happen. After what seemed forever to me was weeks of my parents beginning to yell at each other, I tried to calm them down or try to stop them fighting but I would get hit or one of them would hit me with a bottle or kick me when I am down. This continued a few days when the owner of the circus had meet with them one day and my parents have told him their circumstances. He as the boss of the circus offered them to come with me this weekend as a big show was going to happen. They agreed to this and they were given special tickets for the show. When my parents came home that day and told me I was going to the circus on this weekend I was over joyed. But that didn't stop them from fighting or being abusive to me so I just made sure I didn't get in my parents way. When the weekend finally came I was kinda glad that I got to see a show, my parents would walk me in and sit me down but they seem to start leaving me there to watch it by myself, I felt a little nervous but I watched the show anyway. The show had animatronics instead of people but they were still cool and did amazing tricks. I watched happily but I couldn't get over this feeling of when I get home I will be hurt again and I begin to fear my parents. But I try to not think about it and watch the show, the animatronics where cool though there were some that were animals and some that did look like clowns. I watch the animatronics doing their tricks, then someone comes up to me and asks me how I like the show. I nod saying I really enjoy it then the person asks me what's my favourite clown or animal which I then tell him my favourite animal are foxes. He asks me why and I tell him, it's because the are so cute and cool which is why I like them so much. The man nods as he smiles and asks me if I want to go out back and see one of the new animatronics he is going to make for the show. I quickly agreed and followed the man to the back stage area. The area was kinda dark and quiet but as we go there, the man turn on some lights. I looked at a fox like animatronic clown and I thought it look so cute. I tell the man it's so cool and cute! The man chuckled and asked me if I wanted to see it preform. I nod my head quickly yelling excitingly yeah I do! The man smile and turned on the animatronic. The fox turns on and looks at me a moment before getting up. "Oh a guest! Hello there my name is

Melly" it said happily walking to me to shake my hand. I smile happily, "Hey it has my name!" I say kinda happily but confused as I shake its hand. The man smiled, "That's because it's you" he says then at that point the animatronic looked at me and said give me a hug with static in its voice. The animatronic pulls me into a hug, I look at the man confused, "What do you mean?" I asked him then just as I asked that the animatronic opened up it stomach and pulled me side then closing its stomach quickly once I was inside. I panicked a little scared, "Hey what's it doing?!" I kinda yell panicked, then I hear something snap and I scream out in pain. It seemed I had my arm broken when I felt something wrap around my neck choking me, I hear another snap and I try to scream out but couldn't cause I am choking. I wished someone could help me, save me maybe even just know what is happening right now but no matter how much I wished that my eyes slowly start to close as I couldn't breathe for air. I could hear another snap but at that point I think my body gave up as my mind got filled with questions like, why was this happening, what did I do, where is mum, where is dad, what exactly is happening to me, was this what it feels like to be punished or is this something else. Eventually everything becomes blank and all I could feel was nothing, all that was around me was darkness covering everything. It felt like it was so long till I woke up again and I quickly sat up, I kinda scream as I was really scared now. Suddenly I get hit with something very heavy but I only felt a little pain, "Shhhhhhh, quiet now there are people sleeping" Says a male voice I recognised as the man from earlier. I looked at the man and became scared, "What, why?! Where is the animatronic?" I ask as I slightly back away from the man when I realise he was holding a bat. He smiled seeing my confusing, "You are the animatronic now" he says as he sits down.

"What do you mean!" I yell at him kinda confused but also really scared. 

"Have a look for yourself" says the man as he points to the mirror in the corner of the room. 

I kinda shake scared but I stand and slowly walk towards the mirror as I got closer and closer to the mirror, the more I can see a reflection of me moving towards it. I shake as I see my own reflection, the man wasn't lying I am the animatronic now, I look at the fox like animatronic that had grabbed me and hurt me.

"But why?" I ask shaking and confused.

“Because your parents have been so mean to you and they were going to continue to hurt you till they eventually killed you, so I have done them and you a favour” the man says as he looks at me with evil intent. 

I froze shocked, I couldn’t believe the words that came out of his mouth, “Your a monster!” I yell at him.

He got up and walked towards me, “Yeah I am and of you don’t listen to me from now on I will make sure you will suffer” the man says as he growls low like a monster.

I back away scared, “What do you even want me to do?” I ask scared.

“Just put on a good show and preform. Just listen to what I say and obey then you will be left alone and I will give you anything you want but if you don’t do that I will personally hurt you till you scream and cry, understand” he threatens me with a low dark growl.

I quickly nod my head and he backs away smiling evilly, “Good, now you better get to practicing you will perform next weekend” he says as he starts to leave.

I sit there shaking then kinda start to cry and sob, I couldn’t believe this is what I become, I couldn’t believe he would do this and now I have to perform for this monster. 

                Now to the present:

It’s been two years now and I am not the only person he has killed since then but I did what he asked of me and he did reward me with what I wanted. But there were a few times where I get punished for not listening and he would beat me for a few hours but most of the time I try to avoid being beaten. But being here wasn’t to bad, I at least have a bit of fun doing my own performances and plus I get to do other fun things outside of my performances that are fun too. At the same time though I missed my parents a bit, my friends that I had, I kinda miss being the human kid I am but that doesn’t matter now I am an animatronic kid that other kids seem to like. I think I have a lot of fans that like me cause I can be a bit quirky at times but still it’s fun to see others smile at me. The only thing I don’t like is hearing the cries of death, over the last two years I would occasionally hear people scream for help or just screams of pain because of that I really don’t go to see the other animatronics cause I don’t know what kind of people they are. I think recently there as been another death cause I always hear something crying near my room area and I think there maybe someone next to me crying but I don’t say or do anything cause I am to scared to talk to the others that maybe here. On top of that we have a security

 looking after us at night, I am the only animatronic that doesn’t move around even though we can but I choose not to. I did move around when I first died because then I wanted to explore but there was this one time I was meet with a security person my animatronic moved on itself and killed that person, I was horrified so ever since then I stayed on my stage.

I often see a security guard come on my stage to check me out but my animatronic suite doesn’t move to kill them, I think it’s because I wasn’t moving around and the guard hasn’t seen me move but it can be hard to stay still when someone is checking you. I try my best though cause I don’t want to kill anyone or hurt anyone so I stick to myself. I suddenly hear a bang next to me, “Ouch” I hear someone say, I wanted to move to see who it was and what happened but I stay still. 

“Stupid piece of junk” I hear someone mumble, it sounded like a boys voice. I could hear then walk around a bit then pause.

“Whoa! It’s Melly! Wow is she asleep? Or awake? Oh maybe asleep but she is the coolest!” I hear them say and I hear them run towards me. They appeared in front of me and it is a boy possibly a little bit older than me, his mid length hair is a cool red colour, his yellow like eyes looked up at me with awe. He wore simple clothing and I could tell he liked me by the fox like ears that they sell to look like mine.

“What’s your name little boy?” I suddenly spoke cause I was curious who this was but I feared that this may kill him. 

The boy jumped kinda shocked by my sudden question, his eyes grew wide and he backed away a little. 

I was I little shocked too cause I thought I may hurt the boy but my animatronic suite didn’t move on it’s own yet, I slowly kneel down. “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you, I just saw you were here” I say trying to remain calm. 

“Oh-“ he relaxes a little, “My name is Dax” he says with a bit of a smile.

I slightly giggle, “Well you know my name is Melly, why are you doing here at this hour?” I ask him.

“Oh uh my dad works here so I kinda hang around here though it’s kinda creepy around here” Dax says a little quietly.

“Well it is night time you know of course it’s scary” I say.

“Yeah but- the animatronics move on their own and I watched one kill a security guard” Dex says even quieter but I could hear him.

“Really? Oh no” I say as I look down a bit.

Dex looks at me, “Melly- are you too one that does that?” He asks he backs away a little.

“No- I don’t- you should go- I don’t want you to get hurt here” I say as I start to curl up. 

Dex looks at me a bit scared and he quickly runs away, for the rest of that night I am alone again, I kinda tear up cause I didn’t want someone to be scared of me but I made someone scared. 

The next day I stay in my room just sitting alone then suddenly I hear someone come in, it is Dex the boy who I seen last night. 

He looks at me not scared any more just a little worried, “Hello Melly” he says quietly.

“Morning” I say a bit happily. 

“Eh- I have come to wash your tail and your ears” Dex says a bit shyly.

“Oh really, sorry to scare you last night, I didn’t mean to I know how you feel” I say as I look down.

“Uh it’s okay, I am over it besides I over reacted, so can you tell me something?” Dex asks.

“Uh depending on what it is” I say as I look at him.

“Were you a person once?” Dex asks as he starts on my tail.

I look at him a little worried and nod slightly, “I don’t think I can say” I say quietly covering my nod.

Dex looks at me shocked, “Okay how old are you?” He asks.

“Currently 8, I was six when” I couldn’t say. “Well anyway how old are you?” I ask him.

“Oh I am only 10, you think we can be friends?” Dex asks as he looks at me hopeful.

“Yeah of course” I smile a bit.

“Wait- are you a girl or boy?” Dex asks as he stands in front me.

I sit down so he can reach my ears, “Girl” I answer with a bit of a giggle.

“Oh cause I was going to say if you were a boy it would suck to stay as a girly fox all your life” he says as he smirks a bit.

I giggle then we started to have some conversations with each other, we talked about a lot and it seems we have a lot in common with each other. 

Over the days and night Dex would always come see me, we became great friends as we always hanged out day in and out. But then one say he told me he would have to leave me day because his parents were moving but he promised me we will always be friends. I agree with him cause I can’t see us never being friends then he gave me a pretty bracelet to wear. “This will symbolise our friendship and we never forget each other” Dex says with a smile. 

I nod and agree, he then put on a bracelet similar to mine. After we spend our last night together and Dex moved away the leader of the circus, who we still don’t know his name we just call him boss. Boss came to me and asked me about Dex if I knew anything I lied and said no.

“*You know not to lie to me ^Melly^*” he said in a real dark evil tone.

I quickly nod and promised he knew nothing and that he didn’t do anything different to the guards here. 

“Good” he said normally, “but if and I me *if I ever find out your lying I will make sure you are run down for a week, ^understand?^*” He asks me darkly.

“Yes I understand” I say as I shake a little.

“Okay then go to you room and get ready you start soon.” He says then walks off.

I sigh a little and go to get ready to perform even though Dex is gone I really miss him but I just home he grows up to be what he wants and not stuck like me. I then continue my performing like I usually do just being as happy and as good as I can be until the day I see Dex again.
