THE DEATH OF TWO LOVERS

ACT I

[Many years ago, there was a wealthy family living in a large city. Among the members of the family was a young man named Krishna. Krishna lived a luxurious life inside a grand mansion protected by high security.
Despite his rich lifestyle, Krishna often felt lonely inside the huge mansion. He had everything a person could dream of wealth, comfort, and power but he still searched for true happiness in his life.]

Scene I

[One day, Krishna was travelling in a car with his friend named Raju on the way to a village.]

Krishna: Hello, Raju.

Raju: Hello, Krishna. How are you?

Krishna: I am fine.

Raju: So, what is your plan today?

Krishna: I am thinking that we should go to a village area for enjoyment.

Raju: Yes, good idea, Krishna.

Krishna: So today, we will go to the village for enjoyment.

Raju: Okay, done.

Scene II

[Krishna went to his house to talk to his parents and ask permission to travel to the village.]

Krishna: Dad, where are you?

Krishna’s Mother: What happened, dear?

Krishna: Nothing, Mom. I just want to talk with Dad and you.

Krishna’s Mother: Okay. Your dad is in his room doing some work.

Krishna: Okay, Mom. You also come with me to Dad’s room. I want to talk with both of you.

Krishna’s Mother: Okay, let’s go.

Scene III

[Krishna and his mother went to his father’s room. After entering the room…]

Krishna: Dad, what are you doing alone in your room?

Krishna’s Father: Nothing, son. I am just doing some work.

Krishna: Okay, Dad, but I came to talk about something.

Krishna’s Father: Okay, tell me. What do you want to talk about?

Krishna: Dad, I want to go to a village area for enjoyment with my friend. Without your permission, I cannot go anywhere.

Krishna’s Father: Okay. How many days are you going to stay in the village?

Krishna: Dad, we have not decided yet for how many days.

Krishna’s Father: No problem, son. You can go anywhere. Just enjoy your life.

Krishna: Thank you, Dad.

ACT II

[After the conversation with his father, Krishna got permission to travel to the village.]

Scene I

Krishna: Where are you, Raju?

Raju: I am at my house.

Krishna: Do you have time to come to my house?

Raju: Okay, I am coming.

Scene II

[Raju comes to Krishna’s house.]

Raju: What happened, Krishna?

Krishna: Nothing.

Raju: Then why did you call me here at this time?

Krishna: I have good news for you.

Raju: What good news, Krishna?

Krishna: I already talked with my parents about travelling to the village. They gave me permission.

Raju: This is good news, Krishna.

Krishna: But tell me, when should we leave for the trip—today or tomorrow?

Raju: I think we should leave tomorrow.

Krishna: Okay, done.

ACT III

[After the conversation, Krishna’s parents came outside the house.]

Scene I

Krishna’s Father: What happened, Krishna?

Krishna: Nothing, Dad.

Krishna’s Father: What have you decided about the travel?

Krishna: Dad, we have decided to travel tomorrow.

Krishna’s Father: Okay, good decision.

Krishna: Thank you, Dad.

Scene II

[The next morning, Krishna and his friend Raju are ready to travel.]

Krishna’s Father: Krishna, are you ready?

Krishna: Yes, Dad.

Krishna’s Mother: Son, take this breakfast with you and eat it during the journey.

Krishna: Thank you, Mom.

[Raju calls Krishna from outside the house.]

Raju: Krishna, come fast! We are already late.

Krishna: Wait a minute, I am coming.

[Turning toward his parents]

Krishna: Okay, Mom and Dad, I am going now. My friend is calling me.

Krishna’s Father: Take care.

Krishna’s Mother: Go safely.

Krishna: Okay. Bye, Mom and Dad.

Krishna’s Father: Bye.

Krishna’s Mother: Bye, dear. Take care.

Scene III

[Krishna and his friend Raju begin their journey to the village.]

Raju: Krishna, you are very happy about this trip today.

Krishna: Yes, I am very happy today.

Raju: Let us enjoy ourselves with full happiness.


ACT IV

[Suddenly, the car stops in the middle of the road.]

Scene I

Raju: It is very beautiful nature.

Krishna: Yes, Raju. Very beautiful and lovely nature.

Krishna: What happened, Raju?

Raju: I think there is some problem with the car.

Krishna: So what will we do now?

Raju: We should call someone for help.

Krishna: But where will we find someone in the middle of this road?

Raju: Let us see.


Scene II

[After a few hours, both of them see someone coming on a bicycle.]

Krishna: Look, someone is coming on a bicycle.

Raju: Yes, let us talk with him.

[The cyclist stops in front of them.]

Cycle Man: What happened, sir?

Krishna: Our car stopped suddenly in the middle of the road.

Raju: Can you tell us where we can repair our car?

Cycle Man: Yes, you can repair your car, but the repair shop is very far from here.

Raju: If it is very far, then how will we take our car there?

Cycle Man: Do not worry, sir. Both of you can stay in my village.

Raju: It is a good idea because we have no other option.

Cycle Man: Come, sir. I will take you to my house.

Krishna: Let us go.

Scene III

[Krishna and Raju go to the village with the cycle man.]

Cycle Man: Come, sir. This is my village.

Krishna: Very beautiful village.

Cycle Man: Thank you, sir.

Raju: But where will we live in this village?

Cycle Man: Do not worry, sir. In our village, there is one empty room. Both of you can stay there.

Krishna: Okay, but what is your name?

Cycle Man: My name is Ravi. You can call me Ravi.

Raju: Okay.

[Krishna and Raju begin living in the village.]

Scene IV

[It is now time for dinner on their first night in the village.]

Ravi: Sir, both of you can come to my house for dinner.

Krishna: Sure. Both of us will come to your house for dinner.

Ravi: When the dinner is ready, I will call both of you.

Raju: Sure.

[Later, Ravi calls Krishna and Raju for dinner.]

Ravi: Sir, now both of you come. Dinner is ready.

Krishna: Okay, we are coming.

Raju: This is the first time I am going to eat dinner with my hands.

Krishna: Same here, Raju.


ACT V

[When both of them sit at the table for dinner, Krishna suddenly sees a beautiful girl named Pooja Singh.]

Scene I

Krishna: Wow, she is so beautiful.

Raju: Yes, she is very beautiful.

Ravi: What happened, dear?

Krishna: Who is she?

Ravi: She is my friend’s daughter. Her name is Pooja Singh.

Krishna: What does she do?

Ravi: She has already completed her studies.

[Krishna slowly falls in love with Pooja Singh.]

Raju: Today’s dinner was very nice.

Krishna: Yes, I also liked the dinner today.

Ravi: What are both of you talking about?

Krishna: Nothing. We are just saying that today’s dinner was very delicious.

Ravi: Do you know why today’s dinner was so good?

Raju: No, why?

Ravi: Because this dinner was prepared by Pooja Singh.


Scene II

[Krishna sees Pooja Singh sitting alone silently near the door of the house.]

Krishna: Wait, I am coming.

Raju: Where are you going?

[Krishna walks toward Pooja.]

Krishna: Hello.

Pooja Singh: Yes, hello.

Krishna: How are you?

Pooja Singh: I am fine.

Krishna: Today’s dinner was very nice.

Pooja Singh: Thank you.

Krishna: You are very beautiful. Will you marry me?

Pooja Singh: What are you saying?

Krishna: Yes, I have fallen in love with you.

Pooja Singh: But I do not even know who you are or what you do.

[Suddenly, Krishna goes to speak with
 Pooja’s father about marriage.]

Pooja’s Father: What happened, dear?

Krishna: Your daughter is very beautiful, and I want to marry her.

Pooja’s Father: But how will you marry my daughter?

Krishna: That is why I came to talk with you about marriage.

Pooja’s Father: Listen carefully. I am not ready for her marriage right now.


Scene III

[It is now time for Krishna to return to his house. Slowly, Pooja Singh also begins to fall in love with Krishna.]

Krishna: Now it is time for me to go.

Pooja’s Father: No problem. Next time, come to the village once again.

Krishna: Sure, I will come to this village again.

Pooja’s Father: I will be waiting for you.

Krishna: If you do not mind, can I meet your daughter one last time?

Pooja’s Father: Yes, sure.

[Krishna goes to meet Pooja Singh for the last time before leaving.]

Krishna: Hello, Pooja.

Pooja Singh: Hello. I know you came here to meet me one last time.

Krishna: Yes, but I must go back to meet my parents.

Pooja Singh: I want to say something.

Krishna: Yes, tell me, Pooja.

Pooja Singh: I love you. I want to marry you, Krishna.

Krishna: I also love you, Pooja.

Pooja Singh: So when will you come to marry me?

Krishna: I will come soon, but your parents are not ready for the marriage.

Pooja Singh: Do not worry. I will talk with my parents.

Krishna: Bye.

Pooja Singh: Okay, bye.

[Pooja suddenly holds Krishna’s hand and kisses him before he leaves.]

Scene IV

[Krishna returns to his house. The next morning, he reaches home.]

Krishna’s Father: Krishna, you have come back home.

Krishna: Yes, Dad. I have returned.

Krishna’s Father: How was your journey?

Krishna: Good. Where is Mom?

Krishna’s Father: She is in her room.

Krishna: What happened to her?

Krishna’s Father: Nothing. She is sleeping now.

Krishna: Okay, I will go and meet her.

Krishna’s Father: Okay.

[Krishna goes to his mother’s room.]

Krishna: Mom.

Krishna’s Mother: Krishna, you have come, dear.

Krishna: Yes, Mom. What happened to you?

Krishna’s Mother: Nothing. I am just feeling sleepy.

Krishna: Okay.

ACT VI

[Krishna wants to talk with his parents about marrying Pooja.]

Scene I

Krishna: Dad and Mom, I want to talk with both of you about something.

Krishna’s Father: Yes, tell us, Krishna.

Krishna: When I went travelling, our car suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.
 Then one man took us to his village. There I saw a girl named Pooja Singh. I suddenly fell in love with her, and I want to marry her.

Krishna’s Father: No, Krishna. You cannot marry her.

Krishna: But why, Dad?

Krishna’s Father: She is uneducated, and she lives in a small village. So it is not possible for you to marry her.

Krishna: Mom, please say something to Dad.

Krishna’s Mother: Sorry, son. I cannot do anything now.

Krishna: But Mom, listen to my last words.
 Either I will marry her, or I will leave this house.

Krishna’s Mother: Son, please do not say things like this.

Krishna: Sorry, Mom. I do not want to speak like this, but I truly want to marry Pooja.

Krishna’s Father: Krishna, you also listen to my final decision. I am not ready for this marriage.

Krishna: Okay then, I will leave this house. I can do anything for Pooja’s love.

Krishna’s Father: Fine. Get out of my house. Do not come back again. The doors of this house are closed for you.

Scene II

[Krishna leaves his house and goes to the village to meet Pooja.]

Krishna: Okay, now I have reached the village.

Pooja Singh: What happened, Krishna?

Krishna: I left my house forever.

Pooja Singh: But why? Were your parents not ready for our marriage?

Krishna: No. That is why I left my house.
 Pooja, I truly love you, and I can do anything for your love.

Pooja Singh: But Krishna, my parents are looking for another man for my marriage.

Krishna: What? But did you not talk with your parents?

Pooja Singh: I already talked with them, but they were not ready to listen to me.

Krishna: So what have you decided, Pooja?.

Pooja Singh: I want to marry you. I can do anything for you, Krishna.

Krishna: Then let us run away and get married in a temple.

Pooja Singh: But Krishna.

Krishna: Do not think too much, Pooja.

Pooja Singh: Okay. Tonight we will run away from this village.

[Night falls, and both Krishna and Pooja prepare to escape together.]

Scene III

[Pooja packs her belongings in a bag and goes to Krishna.]

Krishna: Ready, Pooja?

Pooja Singh: Yes, I am ready, Krishna.

Krishna: Let us go silently.

[Suddenly, a man sees both Krishna and Pooja on the road.]

Man: Hey, stop!

Krishna: Who is that man?

Pooja Singh: What will we do now?

Krishna: Do not worry, Pooja.

Man: Where are both of you going?

Krishna: We are just going to the market.

Man: Once again, your name is Pooja Singh, right?

Pooja Singh: Yes, but how do you know my name?

Man: I also belong to this village. That means both of you are trying to run away.

Krishna: Yes, I love her, and I want to marry her. But our parents are not ready for the marriage. That is why we are running away.

Scene IV

[Suddenly, two more men arrive with Pooja’s father carrying weapons.]

Man: But you cannot go anywhere from this village.

Krishna: But why?

Man: I work for her father. I already informed him that both of you were running away from the village.

Pooja Singh: Why did you do that?

Man: This is my duty. Boys, catch both of them now.

[Pooja’s father comes forward.]

Pooja’s Father: My dear Pooja, why did you do this?

Pooja Singh: Because I truly love Krishna, and I want to marry him.

Pooja’s Father: Sorry, dear. You cannot marry Krishna because I have already chosen another boy for your marriage.

Pooja Singh: No, Father. I do not want to marry that man. I will marry only Krishna.

Pooja’s Father: Then prepare to die.

Krishna: I am ready to die for Pooja’s love.

Pooja Singh: I am also ready to die for Krishna.

[Pooja’s father gives the order to kill them.]

Pooja’s Father: Listen carefully. Kill them without making any noise.

Man: Okay, sir.

Scene V

[The men attack Krishna and Pooja on the middle of the road.]

Man: Good job, boys.

[Slowly, Pooja comes near Krishna. They hold each other’s hands tightly and kiss one last time before dying.]

Pooja Singh: Krishna, please wake up. I love you, Krishna.

Krishna: I love you too, Pooja.

[These are the final words spoken by Krishna and Pooja.]

Man: Take the dead bodies of Krishna and Pooja and bury them separately in the graveyard at midnight.

Another Man: Okay, sir.

[At the end, Krishna and Pooja still hold each other’s hands tightly together, but the men try to separate their hands before burying them in the graveyard.]
