The Another Dimension

1956, it was bright sunny day and navy ship sailing in middle of ocean no land in sight 360 degrees. Captain, tilted on railing of deck with a cup of coffee and sipping intermittently and just watching in space.

"May Day May May Day" .. Captain there is an iceberg like big thing in our assigned route, please advise. Captain, hurriedly rushing back to star board sliding the cup aside, took the binoculars and tried to analyse the obstacle and gravity of emergency raised. Voila, his messenger was 100% right.

He picked up the satellite phone and escalated the situation and sharing that ship needed to be detoured by few miles and would be back on route assigned once they cross that obstacle and there was humongous splash and a bug thud and the tail side of ship got wrecked. After assessing the situation and gauging the damage, captain flashed the message that there is a big splash of water from sky and buffalo had fallen on the ship thus damaging the tail side of ship. 

All that happened in a jiffy.... and once the ship was anchored and the captain was court marshalled and was sent to prison.

The reason cited was Captain had been repeatedly telling them the same story..... the sky was blue with white cotton like clouds and that there was an iceberg and ships had to be detoured and that there was this big splash and buffalo fell on the ship and tail side of ship was wrecked. 

No one believed his story and he was sent to prison where he was declared "mentally unfit" and was transferred to mental prison cum place and was kept under strict observation.

Time waits for none and so captain was no exception so time passes by and few year down the lane, a journalist, who was quite enthusiastic about such stories where a highly efficient captain was sent to prison after court marshal followed by mental prison. it was enough for the journalist to dig out more.

The journalist imitated with meeting with the Captain and to his surprise, even after 12 years, his story hadn't changed.... the sky was blue and white cotton balls like clouds and suddenly huge splash and buffalo fell on the ship thus damaging part of the ship... even journalist was confused. He decided to dig out and thought to look for another dimension of the story.

The journalist went to library of that area and tried to dig up archive newspapers to look for any connection with his version. 

After browsing library for good two weeks, journalist was able to grab story in one of the local newspaper. Here it is...

"1956, it was bright sunny day with white cotton balls like clouds in the sky and the scorching heat and due to that there was fire in the forest which happened to be near sea area. As the forest fire was spreading quite fast and soon it might reach nearby villages thereby endangering lives of villagers as well as habitants (wild animals) of forest, the forest officer escalated the matter and decision was taken at the highest level to take help of Air Force Team to douse off the fire real fast. The Air Force, as they had experienced in the past too, had kept their chopper ready and as part of past experience, a hug container like box was kept at the end of forest area and sea side, chopper picked up that hug container went into the sea, filled it up with the sea water without even realising that the container had buffalo on board in container , as being open on one side and a buffalo had climbed up in the container unknowingly, now that its filled up with water and the buffalo got panicked and due to that chopper was getting imbalance and pilot was facing difficulty in taking that container filled with water (and buffalo) to the forest to douse off fire and taking pilot decision to save chopper from crashing and ultimately had to drop the container filled with water and buffalo therein in the middle of ocean thus saving chopper from getting crashed and the pilot was hailed with medal for this swift decision and saving name and fame of forces."

Now that the journalist had the another dimension of Captain's Story, decided to take it to the forces wherein it was decided that Captain had been telling the truth all these years and ultimately Captain was released from the prison but sadly, the Captain was Mental Unfit during the stay in mental hospital for more than 22 years.

Such incidents keep on happening in our routine lives and most of the times we FAIL to see THE OTHER DIMENSION and end up straining our relationships with our near and dear ones.
