The Adventures of an Exasperated Cat

It was a bright sunny day with a light breeze. The cat, Ginger, lay happily on a tree, the wind gently ruffling its fur. Elena, Ginger’s human, wailed as her mother called the firefighters. He flicked his tail in annoyance. What a pesky brat. Didn’t she see that he was taking a little escape from her constant affection? Didn’t they think that Ginger, the holy lord of them plebeians, was able to descend from a tree with such low height? 

While he mused, the firefighters had arrived. One of them, Barry, a tall guy with messy hair that stuck out from under his helmet, climbed up the ladder that was positioned in front of the tree. 

“Come on little kitty” he cooed “No need to be scared” he added, when the cat hissed at him.

Ginger was enraged. Who did this human think he was? He had no right to act as if Ginger was a scared little kitty and Barry was his knight in shining armor. No, Ginger was his own knight. He let out a war cry as he scratched the man across the face, who let out a pained cry as he descended from the ladder, wincing as he bled.

The cat stared down at them from his throne, back straight with pride and importance, as he ran away.

4 hours later, when Ginger got hungry, he came back to a teary Elena.

Elena told everyone he came back because he loved her, but little did she know that he only loved her food and her bed.
