Suicide City - Kota

Papa : Daughter, I want you to become an IIT-ian, so pack your bags you are going to Kota.

Mom : Yes, daughter just go to Kota and you will be an IIT-ian.

Daughter : But Papa-Mummy…

Papa : No if, no but, this is my final decision.

She packed her bags and now she is in Kota preparing for JEE ADV. After few months, a guest arrived in her house where her Mummy and Papa lived.

Guest : Where is your daughter?

Her father : She is in Kota.

Guest : what is she doing there?

Her mother : She is preparing for IIT entrance.

Guest : She is preparing for IIT that too in Kota, kota means IIT. If she is in Kota, that means she is already in IIT.

Her father : We are expecting the same.

Each parents, who send their child to any other place just for preparation of competitive exam dream same. And suppose the child is unable to crack that exam, then parents start blaming the child. Firstly, many parents don’t listen what exactly their child wants to become.

From 2014 to 2017 around 57 students have committed suicide in Kota. In 2017, Kota records the highest suicide rate( among all other cities of India) of students preparing for any exams.

Parents need to understand that going to Kota doesn't confirm a seat in IIT. They have to understand the capacity of their child, what he/she can do and what can’t.
