Stay Humble, Stay Grounded!

I just remembered an incident today which made me write this short note which is very important in our lives.

I have seen many Brand Managers including me or any other managers in different departments of the companies don’t give a damn to the visitors who visit you from different companies promoting their brands or maybe their company. In the professional lingo say the “Vendors”.

It’s very easy for us to ignore them and not answer them many times, but mind you that they are the ones who do your shitty work in your tough times and provide you with the materials in no time which you have made it and we say it’s URGENT. Usually, everything is urgent for us, that also happens sometimes because of your complacency or maybe some of your integrated teams did not do the job in time or maybe the purchasing team etc. and the list can go on and on. Exceptions are always there, still, mind it…why?

It’s simply because we don’t plan it well in advance, we try to push till the end and the result that happens is we rush-rush…

What I want to tell today is that we sometimes don’t give any respect to the partners who work with us from outside the organization, mind you! You can be on the other side in no time and if it happens then just imagine how will you feel, if you are not respected or you are not answered well in time and if you are ignored when you call them.

It happened with me a few years back, when I was on the other side of the table and when I got the heat of life.

It was a bright sunny day; I went to one of the companies to meet to promote my brand and my work. And you know what, the Gentleman made me wait almost for three hours and that was the moment when I got my one of the lessons for life to “Stay Humble and Stay Grounded”.

I had done some mistakes similarly in the past I had similarly made people wait for me, and many times I didn’t meet them at all. Many times, I ignored the calls from them, many times I tried to run away from them, believe you me I felt ashamed of myself that time which I had done in my lifetime.

Nevertheless, you learn from your mistakes and if you can change then you achieve humility in life and learn to live better human. Give that same respect which you expect, give that same space which you would need, give that same time which you would imagine you think you want.

Humility is the quality of being humble.

Always, remember that coin can toss any side. Chances are 50-50.
