Robbery From Robbers

It has not even a week passed and Mike is already on cloud 9 for completing one of the easiest but trickiest robberies of his life. Well, can't say life though. P.S intended. Mike now has 2 items and he kept them in such a safe place that not even Ed can find out this time. Mike still has to study and act normal in his routine life. While Ed is happy that he got a daring partner. But what we still don't know whether Ed is a partner in crime or is he with cops. 

While having breakfast with parents... Mike finds an article in the newspaper about a robbery... he could not read it as his father was reading and turned the page right when Mike read the word Diamond robbery. He got nervous... in fact, he was shocked. He heard sirens coming around in the neighborhood... His heart started beating fast...adrenaline rushed up high in his body and started sweating....he was so uneasy that he couldn't even blink and finally he froze.

Relax... the sirens went away and Mike in no time has traveled from cloud nine to ground zero. He got eased and drank water and went upstairs leaving his breakfast half done. He wanted to react but couldn't. After easing he went straight towards the newspaper and read that the reported robbery was a different one. 

Mike wants to meet Ed but Ed had mentioned no meeting till 2 weeks has completed as they wanted to go slow. Now Mike is panicked but couldn't say a single word about his feelings to anyone. To distract his feelings he joined a basketball club. He enjoyed the play and slowly got over the adrenaline rush.

Ed & Mike met in a park after a few days and Mike shared about his recent experience.

Ed: 'You will have to make yourself used to these feelings. You got to be tough. Train yourself. Know what your reaction will be when someone approaches. Understand the law in detail. Know loopholes in advance.'

Mike 'Ok. Whatever you say man!'

Mike now trusts Ed completely. After having this discussion for a while Ed said 'Let's rob the diamond from the robbers. the one you read about in the newspaper'

Mike first froze and said' It's an on-going investigation...even if we haven't done the robbery we will be arrested if found with the stolen diamond.... but then Ed sarcastically smiles and says 'Really??? Don't you think I have not got that covered?' Mike loses and listens to Ed's plan.

Well, the next night Ed took Mike to a dockyard. Just the way Ed knew about Mike's hidden artifact the same way he knows about these robbers. Whenever Mike inquires about how Ed knows such stuff he says... 'Smart people always hide their sources..that's what makes them smart.'

Mike as per the plan enters the yacht, opens the lock and Ed takes cover. The diamond is right where Ed said. Mike comes out and locks the yacht and they both start to leave the dock. 

Mike now stops and asks Ed how does he know that no one would be there to protect the diamond. Ed says 'The robbers are in police custody. They are bad planners plus with stupid ideology. I take advantage of such people.' He further says 'He is the one who tipped cops so that he can take away the diamond before cops can.' However...right before making the final exit from the dock Police arrive in search of the diamond in a yacht. Now Ed looks worried. They both hide behind a wall.

Mike instead of worrying smiles and looks at Ed 'Finally I got to see your worried face'.

Ed 'Are you high? It is a matter of serious worry. We cannot be seen by cops...why you are so relaxed'

Mike 'I know you got this covered' 

Ed shockingly 'I am not a psych. I cannot anticipate everything. I thought robbers will at least confess by morning and give the location of the diamond. How will we leave...Police are not gonna leave till they find the diamond....'

Mike 'Follow me. Now I have the plan and you stay in suspense. I am doing the same thing you did to me during our first con. Keep you in dark!!!'

Ed without saying anything goes with Mike. 

Mike: 'Since you told me the plan well in advance this is the advantage you got with my Plan B. So I think you got your lesson learned.'

Right, when they try to exit from a manhole a Cop sees them and asks them to freeze. Mike and Ed both are shocked and froze. Police now suspect they are part of the gang. Ed shouts 'Sir, we are owners of one of the Yacht. We just came from a drive. You have some misunderstanding. We are no harm...you can check us'

Mike looks at him and thinks if they inspect them then they will find the diamond... Mike now is convinced Ed is an undercover cop. Before Mike can do anything police approach and checks them. No diamond in Mike's Pocket. Ed really owned the yacht and top of it....without many questions Police released them.

Mike surprisingly asks 'Ed who are you'

Ed winks 'Superhuman'

They both leave and think it's all over. But what they don't know is a button from Mike's shirt dropped while escaping the yacht. The police think the gang is misleading them. But the head agent of Police has connected the dot between the tip they got about the gang and robbery from robbers. It's a classic one. 

Oh yes! I almost forgot to tell you where the diamond went....well....what's the hurry....lets read it in the next story...
