Raghu
Raghu
Raghu worked as a daily wage earner. He had his parents and three younger siblings in his family. He toiled day and night to earn his living. Despite his poverty and hardships in life, he had a good habit - to help others in need of it!
One day he was returning home after his full day's work. He had purchased one packet of bread for his and his family's dinner. On the way, he met an old couple who asked him for help. Raghu did not have any money. All that he had was the packet of bread.
He told the couple that he had only that packet of bread with him. If they liked it, they could have from it. Saying so he gave them the packet. After they had finished, only one piece of bread was left!
Before leaving, the couple blessed him that he would become a big person one day!
He returned home, but could not look into the eyes of his family members, as he did not bring sufficient food for them. The one bread was divided between the three siblings, his parents and Raghu slept after drinking water.
The next day, the boss of Raghu had to go to an urgent meeting, and his driver was ill. He asked if anyone could drive his car. Raghu came forward. He had learnt driving from a friend of his.
He successfully brought his boss home after going to the location of the meeting. The boss was happy and appointed him as his driver with double his present salary!
Raghu worked hard and never disappointed his owner. After working like this for three years, he bought his owner's same car when he was wanting to dispose of it as he had bought a new one!
Now Raghu took permission of his owner to start his own transport business. His business went well. Soon Raghu bought another second-hand car. He kept a person to drive his other car, while he still drove the first one. Meanwhile, he married and also did the marriage of his sister. His two brothers had also completed their studies and got jobs. Now he earned sufficiently to feed his family two meals a day.
Day after day he went on making progress. After ten years of starting his transport business, he had now thirty cars and had many employees working under him. He was now a known person in his locality. He bought a new house and lived comfortably with his parents, wife and children.
Thus, one may believe or not, but blessings do have an effect and good doings never go unnoticed. It was Raghu's good deeds that have paved the way to a successful life.
