Princess Eliana By Nivruti Vedula

A long time ago, far away from the present times, there was a kingdom filled with magical and mystical creatures. There were animals with superpowers. It was a place full of kindness and happiness where physics could not be explained. This kingdom was called "Enchantis". The place is surrounded by mighty monstrous massive mountains. During winters the mountaintops are covered in a huge pile of snow appearing like scintillating silvery Sierra. As we walk in we find conical tall trees with pointy foliage covered in frost that look pristine. They are so close to each other that secrets spread faster than wildfire. Even the snowflakes would carry messages. The land in Enchantis is glistening, glowy and glinty like a skating rink. The Enchantians would glide on the surface to commute.

Among the tiny frosty shacks was a huge palace made of ice with several storeys to live in. There lived a brave girl, Princess Eliana. She was a yellow elephant with green wings and horn on her head. The horn would glow as bright as Christmas lights, whenever there is trouble in the vicinity. She was not only an independent girl but also brave and smart. Her parents, King "Elemund the Third " and Queen "Elemara" always thought that the "Princess's job was to look beautiful and poised and should be indoors". However, they have a son named Prince "Elebro" who is younger than Princess Eliana. He was fun-loving, naughty and he got everything he ever wanted. He always wanted to pull pranks and never took his lessons seriously.

On a cold night, The gorgeous grand dining table was filled with numerous mouth-watering delicacies and desserts with palette cleansers for between the courses. Many juice fountains that never ran out were lined up on the table .A magical miniature snowy mountain with waterfalls was placed right in the centre from where they drank water and filled in their golden goblets. The golden plates with golden trivets were arranged for the royal members. There were twelve pieces of cutlery, four for each course. The supper was eaten in silence, the only sound one could hear was the clinking of the fork and knife on the plate.

Eliana was eating her supper reluctantly, she wanted to discuss participating in the fencing competition for princes. " Dad can I enter the royal fencing tournament this year " blowing hot and cold. King Elemund ignored her question and started inquiring with Prince Elebro about his practice and how he should train to be a king one day. Princess Eliana wanted to ask one more time, when Queen Elemara cut her short, by pointing at a spec of dirt from her fingernail, staring at her meaning to ask "Have you been sneaking around to learn fencing?"She Said "Oh Eliana for once be a proper princess " Princess Eliana stormed out to crashed on her bed. Her room was on the ninth floor of the castle. It was pink with huge paintings hanging on the wall. She had a four-poster bed with pink curtains and pink bedspreads. She sat near the window, looking outside. Far away from her castle, was King Elemund the Third and Prince Elebro, along with giraffe courtsmen, having a gala time mimicking the hunting techniques near the bonfire. The huge trees with icy pointy leaves teased her for not standing up for herself. Tears rolled down Eliana's cheeks. With a heavy heart, she slept like a baby not noticing her horn glew a little

One day when she was ambling by, on cold icy roads she overheard people saying that she was such a waste of talent and they wished the rule in the kingdom didn't say "Princesses can not choose their career and must only look beautiful". With a long face, she ran to the enchanted lake. She likes to sit there in solitude. She looked at her reflection and a tear rolls down into the lake causing a ripple. She could see something glowing hazily. She wiped her eyes and was shocked to notice that her horn was glowing. She remembered her teacher saying the horn glows whenever there is trouble in the vicinity however for a princess it's a mere ornament. She decided to check on the whole kingdom of Enchantis. She flew into the sky to monitor. As she flew something caught her eye down on the land. It was an enormous crocodile, with a long snoopy snout and knife-like sharp teeth. It was circling a bunch of small baby animals. She instantly shot like a shooting star towards them.

She stood in front of the crocodile and said " Let go of the children". The crocodile snapped at her saying " I love to eat baby animals for a meal".Eliana wrapped her trunk around the crocodile's tail and held him upside down in the air. This act gathered a lot of audiences including the king and queen. She swung him faster and faster in circles shooting him up into the sky like a huge green rocket. He banged into the sun and sizzled up like a sausage.

The entire kingdom was grateful to Eliana for saving the kids and the king and queen were so proud of her that they made a new rule in the kingdom "Princesses can become whatever they want to be". He added, " Eliana, shall we discuss the  border security?"
