Planting a seed,

Watering it on daily basis,

At regular intervals applying for fertilizers and medicines,

Is a difficult process,

Even while sometimes we know,

Maybe we won’t be able to eat the fruits,

Still we do it… why?

Because we know that,

The future generation will enjoy it.

But even after knowing that, everyone doesn’t do that.

They don’t have space, time,

Any interest to serve.

They have reasons why not to do something,

And they are feeding their reasons.

Whether it’s yoga… where you are planting the seed of spirituality, daily watering monitoring, for flexibility of body, to reach and explore the inner dimension of who we are, or transforming every compulsive behavior into a conscious one.

Or

Running an organization, where a leader is responsible for his employees, clients, and their kids to be able to fulfill their financial and other needs to grow into good citizens.

Or

By learning a new skill, by employing it, you can truly serve humanity…

We all have a choice at every moment, either to feed our reasons to not do what we should,

Or feeding to the vision, why we should do what we are doing.

We should have such a purpose in life, and we should give our 2k% to it if that fulfills us.

Now, how does love play a role in all this? It’s never an obstacle, agree that sometimes we crave that human touch, that pleasure-seeking hormone, which makes us forget our goals and purposes… but we should not feed them so much that we get distracted from the real purpose of our life… because love is not just a physical touch, it’s an emotional touch too, that we pour into every soul around unknowingly. The energy we carry in our hearts and mind is infectious, so we should do a check-up every time, we the human machines, carrying in the name of love, all selfish desires or a bigger heart to serve the world. And I never said it’s easy. Everyone does that. No, only a few do that, whom you can count on your fingertips and you have to decide, you want to see yourself in which group of people.

I am not against pleasure, but the soul purpose of nature, feeding us with those hormones is reproduction. With no such intent, it will just create more runanubandha. For this reason, we have the ancient “Namaskaram” process, because our body is a huge load of memories, and can save every tiny move, hence creating a habit or compulsive behavior pattern. And unless you have a stable body, you can’t sit for hours focused in one place, you can’t participate in intense yogic processes. So it’s important to know how love serves you in long run. Being in love with someone emotionally and committed to one person, has been given more importance in our culture because that will create less runanubandha in one's body and mind. A stable body, mind, and emotion can help in creating a stable platform for yogic practices and I think it is important, whatever may be your area of excellence. And it’s easier to manage that attraction being apart, than together, in love. So if you are not with a loved one, or not in love,  take advantage of the situation to become more stable. We should take advantage of every situation to grow.
