Pain Of Poor
Pain Of Poor
Every time we read and watch the stories and histories of rich people; most of the people take interest in it but we never try to listen or know the history of a poor person. A poor person should have more respect than a rich or middle class person because 'Poverty Rules'.
It is a painful story of Bangladesh. Dinajpur, a small village of Bangladesh. In that village, A boy of 12 years named Ashutosh lives with his poor mother in a cottage. They are very very poor as they don't have enough money to buy food, so everyday Ashutosh would stand with a plate and people would give him waste food. He never ever ate fresh food in his life.
There were no holidays for him because whatever season, spring or rainy, winter or summer, he'd have to beg for food. Sometimes people didn't give him food and then he and his mother were left with empty stomach.
Ashutosh and his mother would wear clothes which people used to use and throw.
He has many friends but the problem is that they belong to rich or middle class families; so their parents would say, 'don't play with Ashutosh.' The kids would play with him in a different housing society where their parents can't see them.
The time has passed now, everything has changed. Ashutosh is now 19 years old. And he is looking for a job.
One day his mother falls sick. Ashutosh feels sorry for his mother as he can't do anything for her; he asks for help from some people but no one is ready to help him. Day by day the illness of his mother is deteriorating. Then one day he gets a letter. He's been offered a job in Kolkata, India.
With a heavy heart, he leaves his mother in that condition and goes to Kolkata by a train. Within eight hours, he gets so amazed because he never saw India and a metropolis city before.
When he reaches his office, the staff welcomes him. The boss gives him an advance salary of 20 Taka; he feels very happy as he's never seen money in his life. He buys a new Saree of 5 Taka for his mother and some medicines.
Next day he returns home by 'Bordhomaan - Dinajpur ' local train.
When he reaches his village, he finds a crowd near his home; he goes there and asks a man what has happened. The man doesn't utter a single word but he looks sad. When he enters his home he receives a shock. Tears roll down his face. The doctor tells him that his mother is no more. Her body got paralyzed and the nerves which connect brain to body was broken.
His heart aches; his eyes get wet with tears.
Next day he cremates his mother. When he looks at the cremation, he feels as if the soul of his mother is blessing him.
