Leaving hometown for higher studies has always been a bittersweet love story. On one side, you look forward to set your career and on the other, you have to leave your dear ones especially your parents.

Advik, the only child of his widowed mother was all set to do his MBA, but for that he had to leave his hometown. He was worried about that and so was his mother. He had never lived away from her mother since his birth, and it was tough time for him and his mother. But what they say, "Moving forward means you have to leave something behind." With moist eyes his mother sees off him at the station. Initial few days were quite emotional for both of them. He called his mother regularly, but as the days passed his life became quite busy with the loads of assignments, tests and presentations. He would hardly call his mother once or twice a week. His mother had started feeling lonely, with no one around her to talk with. But she didn't tell Advik about it. The whole day, she would wait patiently for his call and talk nicely whenever he would call. "Such a thankless job, being a mother is."

It was Mother's Day, Advik called his mother to wish her. As usual she picked up the call within the first ring. Though she was pretending to sound good, but he could sense something wrong from her low voice. From that day on, no matter however hectic his schedule was, he would talk to her at least two or three minutes everyday.

Wishing your mother on Mother's Day can make her one day, but what about the other 364 days? Living far from home, we are never too busy to talk to them at least two or three minutes a day.
