Miserable Mystery

   A child from a very small town before independence from the central province of British rule in India passed his school board examination. He was a very tall, strong, bold youth at his time. Since he was fond of physical exercise, sport, athletics, etc. Actions speak louder than words. He decided to be a physical instructor in any college after post-graduation in the field. What he thought, accordingly he did it. He was then appointed as a physical instructor in a college in central province in the big city. After the formation of the linguistic state in free India, he went in Madhya Pradesh. Later that state was again segregated into two state. He then preferred the newly created state i.e. Chhatisgarh. He was posted in the Capital. He was the senior-most professor in the university, therefore he was the principal member of the university team.

He had two daughters and the youngest son. Since there was a very healthy atmosphere of education, his elder daughter was a doctor and the younger daughter was an electrical engineer. His son was also a mechanical engineer. The elder daughter get married to a doctor in the same area. Both were happy. They had a daughter. She also became a doctor. But the younger daughter could not get a match candidate for her. They, therefore, searched their son-in-law in their home state. Their son-in-law was also an engineer cum principal in an Industrial training institute in the state government. She was also appointed as principal in the Industrial training institute in the district after her marriage with him. His youngest son was appointed as an engineer and went to Canada as well as other countries as per his company requirement. Blood is always thicker than water.

Since the whole family was settled in other states, their relation with nearest relatives was not so strong. Out of sight, out of mind. Bonding between the family and nearest cousin and maternal uncle was very weak. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. House chief was of the opinion that his daughter-in-law should be an engineer. A bird in hand worth two birds in the bush. Anyhow he found a relation for his son. She was a polytechnic junior engineer. She was a fairly good-looking girl. Both get married. She went with him to foreign where he was working. She had a whimsical nature. Being daughter-in-law, she never mixed with family members and relatives of either side. After a few years the couple had a daughter. Thereafter, she didn’t go with her husband. Looking at this problem, her husband left the job and came back to India. After coming back, he thought that everything would be okay. In fact, she was not in a mood for any settlement at all. He had taken the rented house nearer to her parental home where she was staying. Chief of both the families tried to melt ice.

She asked to her husband let her complete graduation in engineering. Her husband agreed to it. Some relation was being established between them. After graduation, her father-in-law asked her to come back to their residing home at Raipur. He was a very active member. He was one of the directors of the Vidhya Bharati education institution in India. He assured her that she would get job in the state soon. She back to her husband's home.  Her husband opened his computer institute in the city. It was presumed that dispute between them came to an end. But after months, she went back to her parent's home. She was not ready to come back again. She told that she wanted to do post-graduation in engineering. Her husband himself admitted her in the post-graduation course. after compellation of post-graduation. She was with her family. Meanwhile, the elder sister of her husband was in hot water. Her husband was suffering from cancer. He crossed the second stage and was in third stage. The whole family was suffering from the pain very badly. His sister was taking all effort for his recovery. She struggled for two to three years for her husband. It cost arm and leg for medical treatment, but no positive symptoms were noticed after such long medical treatment. She was cold feet and at last, became a widow. 

     She and the house chief were under tremendous pressure due to all these bad happening along with his wife bedridden for the last few years. Her daughter came out of this sad incident. She get remarried to a man who was in the same boat. Both were happy. 

          The House chief then made the final effort to streamline the relation of daughter-in-law. She came back again. She adjusted for a few months. She then earned the faith of all family members. All were of the opinion that derailed train again came back on the track. Everybody was happy. Appearances can be deceptive. One day she called her brother at the home. She collected all gold and money and ran away to her parental home. She then refused to come back again. They went for divorce. They moved to the court. The court agreed for divorce. Her husband ordered to pay monthly fixed installments for his daughter and the rest of the responsibility till she gets mature. He followed the court's instructions.

             House chief decided to get his son remarried. He made effort for a new daughter-in-law. He succeeded in finding out the daughter-in-law, But the new daughter-in-law after few months jumped on bandwagon to the old. Then he decided to keep the couple alone at his native place. He reconstructed the old home and made the provision for new business of newly remarried couple. Because of daily quarreling between them. His parent came back to his workplace again. After a few months, she went back to her parent leaving his husband. Recently, house chief and his wife expired by corona epidemic.

         A person who started his joinery from a very small village, He made hay while the sun was shining. He earned an arm and a leg. At last, he settled in the capital with his family. He achieved position, status, wealth and took away his kids to very high positions by educating them. He struggled throughout his life for finding the solution to the burning problem across the road of his life. But, left to heaven with miserable mystery. It is therefore said that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
