Marriage Anniversary

The widower   Pradeep  Pradhan was spending the evenings of his life alone. Vandana and he spent many years together. Unfortunately, she expired two years back. He was missing her. He loved everything prepared by her . Especially chicken curry was his favorite which was prepared by her. He was willing to have Chicken Curry form many days.

Pradeep Pradhan knew that today is the wedding anniversary of his son. It was already decided by the couple son Nandish and daughter-in-law. Shailaja. His economical minded daughter-in-law prepared limited lunch in the afternoon and relaxed because dinner was already included in their program.  As soon as his son called the daughter-in-law. She dressed well and came out saying to her father-in-law while going, "Papa, baba is sleeping, just see, she got a call from Nandish.  Today is our anniversary so I am going out with him. If you want, then tell us, we will bring it when we come back ". Pradhanji said," Okay, bring Chikankari and Bread for me while coming."  Saying "Ok, Papaji" she came out and walked towards Roxy Theatre riding a rickshaw. Nandish was waiting for her with Pitcher tickets of show 6 to 9.

After some time the voice of baba was heard. Mr. Pradhan ran towards the bedroom to see that he was awake. Before going she kept a bottle of milk nearby. After feeding the milk to baba, he held him on the shoulder for a while. After some time baba went back to sleep. After putting him to sleep, in the cradle, he came to the hall and sat down on an easy chair comfortably spent the time watching the news on TV. He thought that the son and daughter-in-law may have gone for some shopping, after having dinner they will return in one or two hours. But four hours passed but they did not return. He was waiting for them thinking that they would come now.  He was not told about their plane of the movie .

Here this couple was enjoying themselves forgetting the world, they came out after seeing the movie. Then they visited Mall for shopping. Now they started shopping wedding anniversary gift for them. Scoured the entire mall for their favorite gift and then after researching they liked gift for both of them. Till now both of them were very hungry. Both proceed to Five-star Hotel. Both of them had fun and enjoyed the dinner. 

Pradeep Pradhanji was also very hungry at home. It was half-past eleven. Both of them have not come yet. He was too hungry and could not tolerate hunger. He forgot about the chicken curry and planned to have whatever is available in the kitchen. He came into the kitchen and started looking for something to eat if left in the afternoon. But the Kitchen platform was very clean. Nothing was there on the Gas stove. So he opened the freeze, but could not see anything. A few slices of bread appeared in a cover that was found very hard. He thought of eating bread slice but with what he will eat ? He saw the jam bottle was empty. He thought of eating bread with coffee. There was no milk in the vessel. Poor Pradeep Pradhan, was to starve? He was surprised by his daughter-in-law .

Now the scarcity of the Vandana started getting worse. In her presence, he had never faced such problems. Sometimes jokingly used to act to extract some mistake just to tease her, but by heart never say anything. Then he used to convince her. Suddenly, he heard the sound of crying. Again he went running in the bedroom.  He saw baba was crying because his anklets were stuck into the thread of the baby blanket while playing. He went and handled it. After picking up he gave him some water. Then, after roaming around for some time, he was too got tired and sat on an easy chair again. Baba slept on his chest relaxing and  Mr. Pradhan slept without food.
