Delicious dishes were arranged on the roof of all the houses, after eating and drinking.  They would happily return to their nests in the evening.

Sudha was busy in preparations form this morning. She first arranged photos of the ancestors and worshiped them. Till twelve o'clock, cooked all the food and arranged in a plate as an offering to ancestors. She brought the plate to the terrace and kept on the wall of terrace. She was waiting on upper floor by sitting in a chair near the glass door and thinking that when the crow would come and touch the plate. She will be able to see. After that, she will take her lunch. But the crow did not seen from one o'clock to till four in the evening. She sat there thinking of waiting for some time. Till now she had suffered badly with hunger. She felt no more waiting. But she had also heard that no one should eat food until the crow touches the offerings made for the ancestors.

After some time the bell rang at the door. Sudha went and opened the door, saw that her friend Sharmila. Sudha became very happy to see her. Closed the door and both came inside talking. Sudha told her to sit and gave her water. Sharmila asked her whether she had her food, so she replied no.  Sharmila was shocked. She asked "what, it's four o'clock, you haven't eaten yet?" "Yes, there was an Ancestors day. Even the offering plate was kept on the roof in the afternoon. But the crow has not touched it yet. How can I eat without touching the crow ?" Said Sudha. " You are fine, but how long will you stay hungry, Sudha? As far as I know them, they have only given you grief and pain all their life. Regardless of that, in spite of that, you do your duty for them every year.

They were against you all their life. Every year you stay hungry and thirsty like this waiting for the crow. I knew, that's why I came to meet you today. I thought you Feeding dear. "Said Sharmila. "But Sharmila, unless the crow touches, offerings are not reached to them. How can I eat food. " Said Sudha. "Look, I won't give you the wrong advice, but also understand that if the crow won’t touch or if the crow does not come, then how long you will remain hungry? And why will you stay? You did everything that you had to do if the crows didn't touch then what is your fault? You are well educated and staying in the modern era. Tradition should be followed but should not become slaves of it. Come on, walk in the kitchen and eat Let's go and I'm hungry too.

" Oh, you haven't eaten yet. "Sudha asked. " No, how can I eat without you. Sharmila said. " come. Sharmila, let both of us have food together. " Saying this, holding her hand, Sudha takes her to feed.
