My life flashed before my eyes.Dozens of visuals all expressing my worst fears. It overwhelmed me.I felt dazed, confused about what was occurring. Suddenly,it was pitch black and I felt as if I was falling endlessly into an abyss. That was too much for me to handle. My courage was diminishing. My whole body felt like it was going to implode until, out of the blue,my eyes flew open.

Panic drenched me.Beads of sweat soaked my body. The room I had awoken in was expressionless and depressing. My memory was struggling to regenerate, but my senses were as sharp as ever. I knew I shouldn't have been there. I struggled and fought desperatly to free myself from these chains. I was making decent progress until a man dressed completely in white entered into the chamber

The person's face was unreadable, but his eyes showed he was more upset than annoyed at me as I still continued efforts to be free. Eventually,he approaches me with a pained look and takes a seat on the couch.

"Son",he said,"I'm glad to see you have recovered. I know you have a lot of questions. You have been out for a long time."

" I'm sorry,do I know you?" I replied back in an incredibly rude tone. " Who are you? Why am I here? Also, get these stupid contraptions of me!!"

"I did expect that much", the man told me." After all you have been recovering in our hospital for two weeks."

At that point, my brain couldn't take that much damage. Bits of fragmented memories assembled a picture which I couldn't decipher.

"At last you have awoken", he said in a joyous tone, " though I wish I could say the same about..."His voice trailed of into the distance. His tone and expression had been replaced by a frown. He wouldn't meet my eyes.

"Same thing for whom?" I asked with a hint of fear in my voice.

" You and your family were found in the rubble of a collapsed building. You, somehow miraculously survived". He told." As for the others. I'm sorry. They were pronounced dead on arrival".

My worst fears had been confirmed. My teeth were chattering. I couldn't formulate sentences. My voice box felt as if someone had muted it. Tears rolled down my eyes, but I couldn't wipe them off. The truth had taken a toll on my mental stability. I knew things would be different from now on
