ICE CREAM

" Surprise", said the nurse. 

The old lady opened her eyes and in spite of her bedridden state smiled softly. Yes, he did not forget even after 75 years. Though he could not express now he would always give it to her. 

" Tha...s .." she took it slowly into her shaking hands. The nurse helped her with the spoon. Even now she would take the first bite herself. The chocolate melted in her mouth.

" Mom", tears rolled down her eyes as Rita remembered the moments spent with them. All the memories flashed in front of her eyes. Maybe, this was the last time. 

Sushil and Suhana comforted her. Her parents got married on 14 th Feb 75 years back and since then every year on this day he would bring for her dark chocolate cream top ice cream from her favourite ice cream parlour CREAMY FUN. This year too even though both are bedridden counting their last few days.

"He still loves her", said Suhana.

The next day Suhana went to meet them and the nurse frowned. " Am sorry, she left this for you".

The note read:

Being with me through thick and thin,

Love you always,

My dark chocolate icecream

" What does it mean?, asked Suhana

"Mom and Dad met first time when she was having her favourite ice cream. They met for the last time while.. "
