“Your death doesn’t happen to you, it happens to others”. Jairaj looked at a damaged picture of his parents, clenched tight in his hands. “Not others, no, it happens to your loved ones”. “Do you care about them enough to not kill yourself?” A dog passing nearby asked, or it felt like it did. “They are all I care about, and I am doing them a favor. Seeing me die every day, every moment is more miserable, way more miserable don’t you think? And am I even killing myself though?” It’s like the dog felt uncomfortable from Jairaj’s brimming self loath, it gradually moved out of sight

Jairaj continued mumbling “No suicide is plain suicide, it’s never what these critics and health experts see. ‘It’s never seen by these.., he stammered, struggling to remember, psychologists’. A train passed in the distance and the night grew darker. “The ‘system’ it facilitates those who already sit in the sky and they own the land, and with the land the dignity of everyone who lives on this… stolen land, they are the murderers, they kill us.” He repeated the sentence over and over as if conveying a point to himself. “They won’t however be held accountable. No. I’ll go down as just another coward, I’ll be dismissed as just another ‘someone, who was ‘weak, fragile, couldn’t survive in a world that has clearly chosen its favorites”.

The platform felt a shaking as the voice of an engine approaching grew louder, while the voice of Jairaj’s mind faded.
