Fire Test

                 It was the time of internal emergency in India in the sentries. There was a reputed school in a small town. The maximum staff as well as school chief were the active member of some non- governmental organization which would work in the field of social, education, cultural and religious activities in various parts of the country since before independence. It was a social-platform for the young boys for their all round development teaching them patriotism.  It was so called pro –Hindu association by some political parties in the country. The same organization was blamed for producing insurgency, destabilization, in-tolerance and threat to secular structure of Indian society. During first phase of declared emergency, top opposition leaders were put into Jail. They were followed by the active members of banned organization by the ruling government in the country. The head master along with few teachers were put into jail which belong to the same association. In the next phase, A few school students of high school were put into the jail who were active members of the same organization. It was the worst things that happened with students who didn’t know any things about the inns and outs activities taking place in a organization . During that period, it was said that the new head master of school was a pro-government follower.

               

 It was said that he was involved in their imprisonment of the arrested members during emergency. It was a just beginning of new education policy in the state. It was the first batch for which school was granted permission for running junior college in science faculty. There was no infra-structure available in the school. Head master’s son and few other students left the school and took admission in district level science college. There were still enough students in the recently started junior college in the school. There was additional construction work and purchase of school items for the junior college for providing proper basic infrastructure and other minimum facilities. Some of staff members filed complaint of corruption against the school chief to school management. The management formed the inquiry committee of It’s liked people for investigation allegation against headmaster. They found some loopholes in his administration. The committee recommended his termination as they weren’t at all satisfied with his argument against charges.

                   

 It was a very crucial time for the terminated head master at the crossroad. Monthly salary was cash cow for the family. His salary was stopped for ever due to termination. Desperate time call for desperate measures. He moved to the court for injustice done with him by the management. His son was in junior college at another place. The various expenditure of family as well as court expenses put his son into the worst financial condition. It was direct impact on the study of his son. Every thing was essential for family at that particular juncture in such worst condition. His son had been staying with one of the nearest friend of his father as friend in need is a friend indeed. It was not the piece of cake of taking the responsibility of his son. Looking at the changed situation, his son decided to concentrate on his target as when going is tough, tough gets going. He held his horse and paid full attention on study. He thought that the ship is safe in the harbour. But ,that is not, what a ship is for. He would come to college library early and going back to his home very late by attending all the classes. He was managing all his expenditure keeping them lowest as far as possible to him. It was very high tough time of life ever seen before at such crucial period. He knew that time and tide wait for no man. If he surrendered to the situation, he would never stood up in the life again. As stitch in time save nine, he never allowed diversion of his set goal. He work hard for two years in a miserable condition. Fortune favours the bold. He appeared for higher secondary school board examination. He stood merit in the board examination scoring commendable high percentage in science group breaking his own open merit record of previous board examination.

                When his father’s case was brought to the judge of the court for hearing. Court ordered the school management to reinstate him by imposing some condition. His power was withdrawn and allowed him to grant minimum salary till final judgment. Both the good news was come to the family simultaneously. His father was so happy by achievement of son that he was used to stand in main square of town for distributing sweets to all known persons passing through the square. He got the admission in reported medical college which was his father’s dream. As the time was rolling, his father was exempted from all allegation against him through several hearings in the court. The court exempted him from all charges imposed against him. He joined as school chief again. He was retired from same post with past dignity just after completion of his son’s post graduation. His extraordinary, laborious, bold son not only made his career in such odd circumstances but also fulfilled the dream of his father. His son was the famous heart surgeon in the area. No doubt, he cracked the fire test. he proved himself that “ where there is will, there is a way “.
