Ava was 13 when her life took a dark turn. Her parents were physically abusive towards her and often got into fights at home. Ava would have panic attacks due to the stress this caused and it affected her school work. Her parents never attended any of her parent-teacher meetings. With the strain on her life, she struggled in school and would often fall asleep in class due to lack of sleep. Her struggles continued after her mother committed suicide, and her father remarried his mistress, a woman who was abusive towards Ava. She was beaten on weekends and as a result, she began skipping school on Mondays.

Meanwhile, Amalia, her benchmate at school, noticed that Ava was struggling with her schoolwork and offered to help. Although Ava was hesitant at first, she soon agreed and the two girls started studying together. One day, Amalia walked to Ava's house to check on her, and she heard screams and cries coming from inside. She saw Ava being beaten by her stepmother with a belt. Amalia was frightened and ran home to get help from her father, who was a police officer.

When Mark arrived at Ava's house with Amalia, he found Ava in a terrible state. She was covered in bruises and looking totally defeated. It broke Mark's heart to see Ava living in such a hostile environment, especially since he had been to her house before to attend to a similar matter. Mark knew that something had to be done, so he stepped forward and took charge of the situation. He made sure that Ava was safe and that her stepmother was arrested. Mark decided to adopt Ava since she no longer had a place to call home after being abandoned by her father. Initially, it was a bit awkward for Ava to get along with her new family, but as she spent more time with them, she realized that she had found a new home.

Ava started to heal and feel more confident after being adopted by Mark. She started to enjoy life, and thanks to Amalia, she had a new friend to share her experiences with. Amalia would often come over to Ava's new home, and they would watch movies and sing karaoke together. It felt like the world was finally starting to make sense again for Ava. She had finally found people who cared about her, and that helped her to heal from the trauma of her past.

In conclusion, Ava's story is a tragic one, but with the help of her new family, especially Amalia, she was able to overcome her past and start s new life...
