Dwellers
Dwellers
If not the dwellers
of each other's hearts,
we were yet tenants
of the selfsame town
and if we ever happened
to have caught a glimpse
of one another
would we swallow back
the syllables of the names
wishing to roll off our tongues
or half whisper
the unmentioned goodbyes
into the air letting them
carve out an end as desired
for we were too miserable
to conclude what we couldn't
even commence.
