Duty

" I want to eat pasta today .. pleeeze mom", said Subhra. " Umm.. ok let dad come .. then we will order online".

  

The door bell rang and dad came in. They ordered pasta online through the app. They all were excited. The phone rang twice.

 

" Hello sir, my GPS is not working .. please tell.. ", the phone got disconnected. Ravi tried many times but the phone was out of reach. The app too could not locate the delivery boy. 

" We ll order again.. don't worry", he was about to say something when the door bell rang. Shruti opened the door. It was dark outside and the man's face could not be clearly seen. She took the parcel and went inside to get the cash. When she came near the door again he was gone. No one was there. She searched for him but in vain.

" Hey? Who is it?", asked Ravi.

"The delivery man. He did not take the money".

The phone buzzed,

The message read,

"We are extremely sorry to inform you that our delivery man passed away in a tragic accident. Kindly order something else we shall arrange for someone to send your delivery"

" What? Then?"

"He was doing his duty", said Ravi.
