Chapter 3

The Rise

"Your curse is not my fear.

Demons within me hear.

I will escape your wreath."

 

The monster in him got exposed. The ruthless creature's anger has been splattered on who was the man Zaphir, the leader of the drug cartels and the younger brother of the previous leader Guzman. He exposed his real anger to his assistants, saying how plan A had failed and who saved those higher officials and knew their plan. 

 

Silence remained everywhere. He got to know that there was a sheep in his herd of goats. He said that he would not trust anybody in his gang; that he was ready to find the sheep by himself. The demon got ready to taste the blood of the poor soul. While Mike was in custody, the police were explaining everything. 

 

Police asked why he had not told them about everything, and he said that if he had told them first then the officials would not be saved and the gang's motto would not be exposed. Even though the RAW agency supported him, because of higher officials of the police, they suspended him. The case was handed over to the police department. While in frustration, Mike was about to go home, where he saw Agatha. 

 

She said that she is more confident in him, and she asked for help with the promise he made. He said that he was suspended but that he could help her at any cost. She started to reveal her past, where the tale of a supergirl starts. Agatha, a 19-year-old girl, was about to complete her schooling. One day at her home, her mother was cooking in the kitchen, and a knife was in a falling state above her leg. 

 

The knife gets to fall down, and Agatha, with her unexplained supervision, recognizes it and pulls her mother from being hurt. On the same day she got to hear a sound from the television, which was about half a mile from her house. She was in a confused state. Days later, she got to know that she had a rare syndrome of exceptional hearing and vision in which no one had discovered it yet. She was not sad because she considered that a God's gift and decided to help others with her powers. One day, on her way to college, she met with an accident. Her eyes and her whole face got wounded.

 

Although after a few days she recovered, her left eye was somehow damaged. On her check-up with the eye doctor, he found that her vision on her right side was exceptional, and he was shocked whether she knew that. She replied that she had supervision and hearing, but she told him to keep that a secret, not to be revealed to his parents. 

 

Later, her both eyes got normal, but her life had become a tragedy on a particular day. One day the doctor she was treating approached her to talk about an important matter. She agreed and asked if there was any problem in her eyes, and the doctor replied that he needed her cornea for replacement of normal vision. 

 

She disagrees and says that her vision was normal and she is not ready for a cornea transplantation. The doctor said that it was a life-threatening one for her and asked to have a cornea replacement for normal vision. She identified that the doctor was somehow abnormal, understood why he had not discussed with her parents, and said that he had also consulted other specialists, and they said her eyes were normal and not life-threatening. The doctor understood and exposed his real face that he needed her cornea for someone and offered her a new cornea with better vision and lakhs of dollars.

 

She disagreed and left the place immediately. She was about to tell this to her parents, but she refused. Later on that day, while she was on her way from college, a masked man from a car with a group of strangers followed her and soon chased her. She was about to escape with her superpowers, but later she was chased by the masked man. 

 

He had strongly hit her with a rod, and she was in a dizzy state. She managed to escape and hide in a car, which was mentioned in the first part of the story, which belonged to the drug traffickers. She managed to escape from the car, and in a hurry she got on a bus, which landed her in another place. With no mobile and money, she started to seek help from the nearby people, but again she was caught by another gang member, and she started running to the extent where she fell in the car of the RAW agent Mike, and she concluded her story. Mike understands the whole case of Agatha.

 

Mike asked what the things she had done with the superpowers to help people were, and she replied that she stopped her college bus from having an accident by being hit by another uncontrolled vehicle, and she said that she also helped persons who are disabled. Mike smiled and said that was good, but he expected her to be a part of the RAW agency that handles crimes. She smiled and said that it depends on her parents' wish to make her an agent. Mike, in a funnier way, asked whether she belonged to a superhero team, and she replied, "I am Agatha, not a superhero but willing to be," in a bold voice. On the other side, the leader of the drug traffickers, Zaphir, has another plan, and Mike, in a helpless state, decides to play a game with Agatha to kill the monster, who is the man Zaphir, where the chapter ends.
