Domestic violence includes any form of behavior that violates a woman's desire to live in health, safety, life, and happiness.

"Touching thoughtfully, do not consider any raw string." - Upasana Pattanayak.

Domestic violence is present in our society since ancient times. The country is making steady progress every day but there has been no reduction in domestic violence against women. Even today the condition of women is very pathetic. Since childhood, atrocities are started against women by their family members and relatives. When she is born she is taunted and tortured.

Domestic violence includes beating, coercion, and any kind of pressure on a woman which is done by any family member or relative. In domestic violence, women are physically and mentally abused. Many people commit atrocities on women in the greed of dowry and even educated people do not lag behind in committing this crime. Women themselves are also responsible for promoting domestic violence because they do nothing against it, but try to put themselves in such an environment, as a result of which they lose their lives one day.

Women should raise their voices against wrongs and stop wrong from happening to them.

"Girls should have this right one who flirts that hand should be side by side." - Upasana Pattanayak.

People also have to change their thinking that they should not harass their daughters-in-law because if their daughter becomes the daughter-in-law of someone's house, she will be subjected to similar atrocities. The government has also made laws to prevent domestic violence and other appropriate steps have also been taken. We all should also make every effort to stop domestic violence. If a woman is being tortured somewhere, then her information should be given to the police so that the police can find out the matter as soon as possible and stop domestic violence.

According to the State Women's Commission, "Any woman who is suffering from beating or other harassment by the male of the family, then she will be called a victim of domestic violence." Domestic violence can be said to be any kind of fight arising in the family, but most of the victims of domestic violence are women, so we will talk more about women in this article.

To protect against domestic violence, the Government of India has also enacted the Domestic Violence Act 2005. This Act has come into force with effect from 26 October 2006. The Domestic Violence Act 2005 is governed by the Commission for Women and Development.

Many incidents of atrocities against women continue to occur due to the practical forms of gender inequality. Most cases of execution are due to domestic violence. Dowry has been the main cause of domestic violence, along with increasing material amenities, the demand for dowry greedy people is also increasing. Women are also abused verbally or emotionally, such as "neglecting, discriminatory or humiliating her for not bringing dowry, taunting or humiliating a daughter when she is born." Making unreputable derogatory remarks, laughing, slandering, etc., are included in many things. Women are not safe in the family itself. Often they have to be victims of assault on small things. Cases of mental and physical harassment in police stations are increasing rapidly. The cases of harassment are more among the poor uneducated sections. Although provisions have been made for women's equality in our Indian Constitution, the irony is that in a democratic country, most women do not get democracy within the home.

The reason for domestic violence are:

Physical abuse includes assault, intimidation, intimidation, attempts to destroy health, mutilation of a woman.

Verbal or Emotional Abuse includes neglect, discrimination, humiliation for not bringing a body, humiliating for not having a son, making disrespectful derogatory remarks, laughing, slandering, barring to go out of the house, school, college or not, any teaching-training forbidden from going to the workplace, insisting on marrying against one's will. All such behaviors can be included in emotional abuse.

Economic Abuse includes not providing maintenance, not providing food, medicines to the woman and her children, obstructing the job, taking the income received by force, banning the use of household items, etc. Such behavior is economic may be involved in abuse.

Domestic kinship refers to the relationship between any two or more persons in which they either live together in a shared household or have lived in the past.

This may include the relationships like:

  • Blood-borne relations like mother-son, father-daughter, brother-sister, etc.
  • Marriage-related relations like husband-wife, mother-in-law-daughter-in-law, father-in-law-daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relationship with widow woman in the family.
  • Adoption or relationship arising out of adoption such as adopted daughter and father.
  • A marriage-like relationship like- live-in relationship is legally invalid. invalid marriage for example husband has married for a second time or husband and wife are related so marriage is invalid.

It is to be mentioned here that to come under the purview of domestic violence relative, it is not necessary that two persons are currently residing in a common household. For example, if the husband throws his wife out of his house, then she also comes under the ambit of domestic kinship.

Major causes of domestic violence are :

  • Women being uneducated.
  • Husband being an alcoholic.
  • Man's addiction to rest.
  • Having doubts about the character of the woman.
  • Simple nature of woman.
  • Economic dependence of women on men.
  • Preventing women from becoming self-reliant.
  • The existence of the dowry system in society.

On the basis of the above things, it becomes clear that thrashing, slapping, stumbling, pushing, forcing to see dirty pictures, humiliating, abusing, humiliating a woman when she is a daughter, forcing her to quit her job. And threatening to commit suicide, not allowing the use of clothes, objects, or things of ordinary domestic use, is domestic violence.

"How to be safe on the roads who are not safe in the womb,

What will you do by becoming a world superpower?

If a girl can't walk in the streets alone." - Upasana Pattanayak.

According to the Protection from Domestic Violence Act 2005, it is necessary to know clearly who the victim is and how the victim can get protection with the help of the law.

The Protection from Domestic Violence Act 2005 aims to protect women from abuse arising out of domestic kinship.

We have to change our ideology, thinking, and mindset. Nature has not created a woman just for pleasure or exploitation. He too has the right to live a good life as men have. Dowry, giving birth to a son, exploitation on the basis of character message should not be harassed with him. We have to change our thinking.

The government should make strict laws for the safety of women. Rape law should be strictly enforced. The accused should not be granted bail. Strict laws should be made. We have to increase the literacy of women.

When 100% of girls, women are literate, then they can help themselves when injustice happens. Police should take immediate action in case of such an incident. Arrest the culprits immediately.

Nature has made man and woman equal. We should not make the mistake of considering men as strong and women as weak. Can this world go on without women? Only when a woman gives birth to a child does the world progress. That's why we should respect women. He should not be tortured.

"I am a girl but don't feel that I am weak." - Upasana Pattanayak.

"If women are safe, the nation is safe

If it can create, it can also destroy

Woman can protect herself." - Upasana Pattanayak.

"Don't tell the woman she is alone

Wrath has swallowed many of its sinners

Kill anyone who molests

Give women this right." - pasana Pattanayak.
