Halsey was unable to hit the sack.

Halsey – "I am an unfortunate child. I have lost the best part of my life. What will I do now? What is going on? I was a painful fish out of the water. Where did I commit a mistake? I am a loser?"

She began to shed tears.

Julie – "Hal wipe your tears. Don't cry over the spilt milk. I want to sleep. Please stop it."

Halsey to herself, "She would be happy because she got admitted to the best university. However, I will not be happy. Because I will not trust anyone easily. I am an introvert. Julie is the opposite of me. I hope it will not be a difficult task for her. I can spot the happiness in her face. This incident is the biggest accident in my life. It will be an inerasable scar till I die."

Halsey saw Julie sleeping. Halsey doesn't want to disturb her. Halsey gets up from her bed and walks as a cat. Opened the door as a criminal and reached the lobby. All the lights were switched off. Still, she could hear the murmuring sound.

Halsey to herself – "Mom and dad would be sleeping. But these sounds look similar to them".

She could sense their presence in the next room.

Mom – "Sudden change should have affected our kids."

Dad – "Yeah. But within a week everything will be alright. Hal's scorecard will increase. I hope she will be the best academic this year. Julie too. We should be proud of our girls."

Both laughs. Their laughter filled the entire room. Halsey got hurt by their words. She ran to her room in tears. She went to the washroom. She opened the faucet. Faucet sprayed the water. She stood near the tub and began to cry louder.

Halsey – "My parents were just focusing on my positive vibes. My dark side kills me every day.

I was not adorable by all. Sometimes I was hated without reason. How will I handle this?

Will there be anyone to understand me? God at least send someone who understands me."

Halsey dries her tears and goes to bed.

The next day, both sisters were getting ready. Julie was blushing with joy.

Halsey – "Julie, are you happy?"

Julie – "Yep."

Halsey –"How can you be happy. Are you not missing your friends?"

Julie – "I already gathered information about this college. I miss my friends. But life is all

about give and take. I lost my friends, but I am ready to pick new ones!!! Nothing is permanent

Halsey. Life moves on as its own. You can't hold it. You should tune your mind to accept

anything. You are still a kid, when you grow up, you will understand everything. It is all right now get ready."

Within a one-hour car reached her school. She hugged her father. Halsey's eyes filled with tears.

She stepped into the gate.

FB Begins

Shayarin – "Halsey, why did you receive the punishment?"

Halsey – "Shay, I am glad to have a good friend like you. The punishment doesn't matter."

Shayarin – "If Mam complains to your parents everything will be worse""

Halsey – "My parents will not punish me for this."

Shayarin – "That's so kind of them. My parents will scold me if I forget to take my textbooks."

Halsey – "I am thankful to God for presenting my awesome parents."

Shayarin – "Hals, tomorrow is my mom's birthday. I want to buy a gift for her."

Halsey – "Superb Shay. What are you going to present for her?"

Shayarin – "Ring. Will you accompany me tomorrow for the mall during breaktime?"

Halsey – "Do you have money to afford it? I will accompany you."

Shayarin – "I have been collecting it for two years."

Halsey – "Wow. So, kind of you."

Shayarin – "We can have ice

cream and buy chocolates."

Halsey – "Sure. Then I will see you tomorrow?"

The car comes both bids goodbye.

Halsey's filled with tears.

Halsey to herself "I didn't imagine that day is the end of our friendship. I miss you Shay."

FB ends

Halsey was in tears. The teacher who was passing by patted her shoulder. She comforted and

directed her towards the classroom. The teacher was already in the classroom. It was the

Geography class. Everyone in the class looks at her in terror. Halsey smiled at them, but none smiled.

The teacher directed her to the seat. Halsey listened to her lectures. The bell rang.

Halsey (to the one next to her) – "What is your name?"

"Flora."

"Myself Halsey."

"Why did you change the school?"

"My father got a transfer."

"Why can't you find another school"

Halsey was taken aback and was struggling to answer her.

The next class was to begin. The girls next to her bench began to mock at her. Halsey's heart beats faster. She was almost about to cry but controlled herself. The Mathematics teacher entered the classroom.

"Can anyone of you tell me about Pythagoras' Theorem? Or at least its formula? I taught it yesterday.

"Can I answer Mam?" – Halsey.

"Yes."

"The Pythagoras' theorem is a fundamental relation in Euclidean geometry between the three sides of a right triangle. It states that the area of the square whose side is the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares on the other two sides.

The formula is AB2 AC2= BC2."

"Wow. All of you clap for her." – the teacher.

One of the back-bench students kept staring at her. Once the teacher left Halsey enquires to Flora, "Can you tell me the name of that student?"

"She is my best friend, Celes. She is the topper of the class."

Now Halsey understood why she was staring at her.

The bell rang. Celes came towards Halsey – "How dare you to answer the question before I want toto answer?"

"No. I …." Halsey was blabbering.

"Stop. I don't want an answer from you. If this happens again you will see my next face."

Halsey was sad by this.

At lunch break she was alone to eat the lunch. Adina came near to her, "Don't worry Halsey.

Allie will come to school after one month. She will take care of the rest".

"What happened to her?"

"She is suffering from a smallpox. She is the gem of this classroom, kind, and passionate. Tolerate the atrocities just for a month."

"Okay." – Halsey jumped with Joy.

Halsey reached home. She had the bitter day. She was waiting to see Allie. Though she faced lotso f struggle, she was waiting for Allie. The results of the month were out Halsey scored first rank in the class. How will she face the anger of her enemies? This morning she received a message from Adina – "Good morning dear. Sad news to you the doctors assured that Allie must take bed rest for one month because she fell from her bed".

Halsey was sad by seeing this.

How will she handle this situation? 

Who will support her? 

What are the problems she had to face?

Will Allie and Halsey become friends?
