Darkness Ascending
My mind was racing so fast that it could hardly ever slow down. I was in a dark, dense forest and I could barely make out what was in front of me. The freezing night air made me shudder. I was out of breath from all the running for the past 10 minutes and wanting to sleep under the comfort of a tree. But I can’t stop now, especially after seeing how far I’d come. I kept on running when I heard a twig snap not too far behind. I felt a chill run through my spine. Before I had the time to react, something hit me so hard in the head that sent the whole world spinning. The pain was unbearable and slowly my eyelids became heavy before going into a deep slumber.
