In a small village, a boy by the name of Sora Jin was a 15-years old teen, he had black hair with hazel eyes and always wanted to fight. He spent most of his time training to improve his skills waiting for a challenge. That’s when he heard about a fighting tournament in a small village on the other side of the forest. Since he lived with his Single mother in a small house with barely enough for both of them, he saw this as an opportunity to earn gold for both of them.

“You don’t need to go Sora, I’d rather you be safe here rather than risk your life just to earn money “ His mother gave him a worried look placing her hand on his shoulder. She was a middle-aged woman with long brown hair with green eyes wearing a brown and white gown.

Sora stood up wearing a black cloth shirt and worn-out blue pants. “Mom…I know you’re worried about me, but if we continue living like this, then what’s the point? A life of pain and misery isn’t a life. I want to give you the life you deserve so we can live a decent life. I’m going to that fighting tournament and trying to see if I can win us some gold. Please don’t try to stop me…I’ve already decided”

CHAPTER 1 A Fierce Tournament Begins

Making his way through the small village of Crisindel, he walked down the dirt path seeing houses and merchants aligning the streets until coming up to a large fighting ring that looked like a massive tree stump. Many other fighters were already standing around the ring when a tall man dressed in a red robe with brown hair and green eyes began to announce the beginning of the tournament.

“Welcome all who’ve come to take part in the Crisindel tournament. Though the ring may not look like much, I assure you the prize for winning this contest is a great sack of gold worth the effort! So then, if all participants of the preliminaries please enter the ring so we may begin!”

The young teen stepped into the wooden ring as other average-looking people entered ring. Many looked like basic people who hadn’t trained a day. All except one Woman wore a red gi which was a uniform most novice or average martial artists wore. She had long blue hair in a ponytail with green eyes.

“Begin!” As the preliminaries commenced, multiple contestants lunged toward Sora as if to knock him out of the ring first. In a sudden move, Sora struck the one to his right with the back of his hand sending them staggering back before kicking his left target in the abdomen knocking the air out of them. “Huff…you bastard, I won’t lose to a little brat like you!”

The one he had kicked got to his feet charging straight for him, that’s when Sora moved to the side, tripping the incoming opponent as they staggered out of the ring landing in the dirt. (Looks like I was right, these guys don’t have any actual fighting skills…except for that girl)

He watched as the female warrior dogged each blow that came her way as if anticipating their movements. The crowd around them watched as the skilled martial artist waited for one of the few remaining men to attack when one threw a punch right for her. In an abrupt motion, she slid under her opponent’s feet, grabbing them by the back of their shirt before tossing them out of the ring.

“Time! Looks like we have our three contestants for the tournament! We shall have a 30-minute time out before continuing the tournament!” Sora wasn’t surprised the one in the gi made it, but the 3rd contestant was just another nobody but was more built with a muscular body.

Sora thought to himself: (Chances are the contestants tried to avoid him since he was the biggest looking threat, or he’s relying on his strength to win this tournament. However, one can’t rely on strength alone to exceed in battle, just like how one can’t rely on technique alone. Both go hand and hand In terms of battle. One can’t reach one’s full potential if neglecting one of these two traits)

While he waited for the next phase of the tournament, Sora made his way over to a large tree where he sat down crossing his legs and closing his eyes to relax and wait for the next fight…

After a while, the time was up and so began the 1st and semifinal round. The announcer once more prepared for the next phase. “Alright ladies and gentlemen, let us prepare for the semifinal round! Sora VS Sugo!” All watched as the young teen stood before what seemed like an unfair match-up.

The built man had worn a brown cloth uniform with short brown hair and hazel eyes. Sugo looked down at his opponent with a dark glare. “Begin!” Without hesitation, Sugo threw a strike right at the young martial artist, only for Sora Jin to lean out of the way giving him an opening to attack. In a sudden strike, the teen struck the built opponent square in the ribs, only for it to have no effect against them.

“Hmph, your reaction time is impressive for someone of your age and stature. However, a young brat like you can’t possibly win against a man who’s spent years building up my Physique” Grabbing the youth by his arm, he threw Sora towards the crowd attempting to throw him out of bounds. Many citizens gasped as they watched him fly towards the edge.

Just as it seemed over for Jin, the martial artist landed on his feet mere inches from the ring out. “Phew, that would’ve been a sad way to lose” Sugo clenched his fists in anger facing his opponent. “Tsk, you really are an agile bastard. But that luck won’t save you forever!” The combatant charged right at him throwing another punch right for him. The crowd watched as Sora tripped Sugo causing him to lose focus before grabbing his arm and pulling him out of the ring.

The strong opponent fell out of the ring, hitting the dirt as all of the audience cheered for the winner. Giving his opponent one last glare, Sugo got up covered in dirt and walked away in defeat.
