Radha was an innocent girl of nine years trusting everything Kanhiya said. He was a careless brat of ten years saying anything he felt like. They were neighbours. Since childhood she had been believing he would one day climb to the sky and bring the moon for her, he would swim down the deepest layer of the ocean and bring for her the costliest whitest pearl, he would climb to the Everest and bring the sacred purple flower for her. She trusted him blindly. He after making such impossible promises was amused to see her bright happy face.

Time passed. Both were now adults and still nothing changed. Wisdom, pragmatic approach towards him was never in her mind as if she considered him as a God and what God says is meant to happen. He was studying abroad and would return after acquiring the degree. Everyone tried to convince her that he would never return from America. She did not wish to hear negative prophecies. However, the well -wishers were correct. He got settled in America and ten years passed.

She was married to a wealthy merchant. God had granted her a very understanding, loveable, devoted husband. She was very happy in her life and embraced motherhood. She gave birth to a beautiful girl child. The child was like an angel, completed her and she felt blessed having such a peaceful, heavenly life. Time was flying. The little angel grew up into a gorgeous lady - a rare combination of beauty with brain.

It was a dreadful night when a car collided with another one and the driver lost control. Her daughter was inside that car. She was critically injured and was rushed to the biggest city hospital. Her father was ready to spend all his wealth; her mother was ready to sacrifice her own life to get back the daughter. An experienced team of doctors was continuously monitoring her 24 hours under observation inside the ultra-intensive care unit. The parents were advised to pray and keep faith in God. A specialist was called from abroad to handle the ever worsening condition of the patient.

The parents were praying in hospital without any food and water with folded hands in front of the Ganesha idol as operation was going on. The specialist with hurry entered the OT. The operation continued for long eight hours. After the operation the patient was shifted to the same intensive care unit. The parents were allowed to see their daughter outside from the glass chamber. A hand on the father’s shoulder made him to turn around. He was the specialist who was smiling and uttered the magic words, ‘operation was successful’. The father was unable to control his tears of joy, thanked him sobbingly.

After a week the daughter was showing great improvement and the specialist visited hospital to observe her. In the hospital when he entered the patient’s room he was set aback. He could not believe in his eyes that his childhood innocent friend Radha was there. After so many years he met her. Nothing was changed. She was still the same modest lady. When she saw Kanhiya she was also in the same situation of utter disbelief. They met, chatted, laughed whole heartedly. He again became the same boy and started saying to her daughter, “You will be surprised to know that Your mom was so brainless. She always believed in everything I said. I used to say that I would bring for her the moon by climbing to the sky, I would swim down the deepest layer of the ocean and bring for her the costliest whitest pearl, I would climb to the Everest and bring the sacred purple flower for her. She, the duffer, believed in all my silly talks.” She kept her fingers on his lip and replied, “My belief is strong. You have done what you have promised to do for me. You are my God and God keeps promises.” She pointed out to her daughter who was smiling and he was perplexed and astonished how he turned into a promise keeper.
