A Stolen Election Naila Hina
A Stolen Election Naila Hina
A week ago Daim emailed me again. He wanted to restart the flame again. I remailed him:
Your great uncle was a great person, who alone supported the whole city and all its people, that's why I had trusted you. But you proved to be a religious fanatic who gains reward by teasing us!
You are not a good politician Daim! I have studied international politics and I KNOW!
Today all the newspapers and TV channels showed the news that Daim Khaskheli has gone to Hazirabaad and talked to Veer saheb and included themselves in an alliance!
Look! He has proved, that, whether or not he is a good politician, he obeys my orders. He trusts me and believes my authority over his mind! The greatest weapon is indeed: Mind!
In his story, The lamp, the witch and the wardrobe, C.G. Lewis explained and suggested that a lamp post in the land of Namia is possible to fertilize because it was created at a time when the land was so Fertile, that even a street light can be born from it!!
Those were the times when no government could be made without the help of
the one and only, ever winning political party of The City! It was said as a joke that if the party supported a lamppost, even that lamp post would win the election, for sure!!!
Then one day, with a slip of tongue during an emotional speech, the leader lost it. And the wheels of times turned around.
A diplomat that my lover was, he read the unwritten future and invited the rising sun at his place, alongside all the big leaders of the time, in a big party alighted with supermodels and celebrities from all walks of life! There was horse-trading going on as usual but it's part of the big game.
Afterward, there was an electric atmosphere and election frenzy. The country got adorned with big posters and banners of different political parties, on every wall and street. Leaders gave speeches and remained busy in the election campaigns along with their party workers. All for nothing!
As expected, when election results were announced, he had won the game with flying colors!
He had learned diplomacy from me, but had not adopted my value systems!
