A Player Is A Player Forever

Aditya was a very naughty child. He was seven years old and loved to play in his free time. After coming back from school, he spent most of his time in the nearby ground.basketball was his favorite game.even after coming back from the ground he used to see basketball matches on tv. Playing basketball has become his passion.

On one of his birthday, his father gave him basketball as a gift. Now he started practicing in the night also at home. He had become a good player. As he joined the senior school in the sixth standard, he took basketball as his game. His coach in school also saw the potential in him and game him the best coaching. Soon he was selected in the state team.

With time his game improved and at the age of eighteen, he became a member of the national team. The Commonwealth Games were going to start after a month and he was supposed to lead that team. It would have been his first international experience. But just before the selection process his father had a heart attack and died. There was no one to take care of his mother and the financial condition of the family was also not so good. So he dropped the idea of going to the interview for selection. He also had to do a job in the evening to earn some money. So he was not able to do

evening practice also. He had to choose between family and game, and he chose the family. Aditya took the basketball kit and his sports dress and locked it in a box.

After doing his graduation he got a good job in a company. Sometimes on the way to the job he used to try basketball shots on the ground with the children. The player inside him was still alive. One day there was a friendly match of basketball between two teams in his company. He opened the old box and took his sports dress out of it. The player came back to him. Aditya single-handedly won the match for his team. To see the match his company’s MD was also there. He was very impressed with Aditya’s game. He called Aditya in his cabin and asked him whether he was pursuing basketball in the past. Aditya told the whole story to his MD. The company’s MD offered to help him fully if he wanted to pursue the game and told him that all the expenses of coaching etc would be born by the company if Aditya wants to pursue. Aditya was very happy to hear all this but he was also very apprehensive and was asking himself ”will it be possible now and can I do it ?’’
