There once was a young girl named Abby. Abby lived in a house that had a meadow and under the meadow was a garden. Abby lived there with her mother. She had been given a special necklace by her grandma and she never took it off. Her grandma had given her the necklace as a birthday gift. The necklace was in the shape of a beautiful flower, the flower was in the colours of the rainbow.

One day when Abby came home from playing in the garden under the meadow she realised she had lost her necklace but as it was dusk it was getting harder to see. She had to go home and wait for the next day to search outside. When she went home her mother heard her story about the necklace gone missing and promised to help her find it the next day. Her mother gave her warm soup to cheer her up and then sent her to bed to get a goodnight's sleep.

That night Abby could not sleep at all she was restless so when she saw the faint light of the sun rising, she instantly ran out into the meadow and down to the garden to find her necklace. But lo and behold there was a light that fluttered about when Abby went closer she saw it was a fairy. The fairy saw Abby and flew into one of the bushes nearby.

Abby then said,"I am sorry for scaring you, please do come back here. I won't hurt you."

The fairy slowly came out and fluttered in front of Abby,"Hi I am Elena and you are?" the fairy asked.

"Hi, I am Abby. Are you real or am I dreaming?"

"You are wide awake," Elena replied.

"I have never seen you here before."

"No, you wouldn't have seen me. I only come out at dawn to play and when the sun fully rises I go away."

"Oh, that would mean you are going to go soon."

"Yes I will but you must promise me never to tell anyone you saw me here or that fairies exist."

"I promise."

"If you ever wake up at dawn again to look for the necklace, come here and play with me and then go back to sleep. When you wake up again you might find the necklace by your bed. Goodbye. I will see you soon, maybe we could play another day, Abby." And Elena disappeared. Abby went home and fell asleep.

When she woke up she saw her necklace on her pillow next to her head and remembered what Elena had said. She went to her mother excitedly and said," I found my necklace, mother. See, I found it." Abby kept her promise not to tell anyone fairies exist. Abby continued to go down to the garden to visit her friend, Elena the Fairy.
