Wish I was never free

Wish things that happened,

Were never meant to be.

Wish “tiranga” had never flown so high!

O’boy it hurts,

When the descend is from the sky.

26th January 1950, India's very own constitution

A day he had longed to see,

The great “father of the nation”

We're a republic, courtesy dr. B.r. ambedkar

Salute to the thousand sons

Posthumously known as a martyr.

15th august 1947, transformation of a hue

What good was this independence,

When a country was divided in two!

Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, isai

Brethren for years, enemies now

Hum sab the kabhi bhai bhai.

You were hit by a madman, o great mahatma

As you sow, so shall you reap

Honestly, was this to be your karma?

“Give me blood, and I shall give you fre

edom”.

Blood still oozes out sir,

Long have we received our freedom?

Fought for her right, did the brave Lakshmi bai

Every girl still does,

Gender equality is a far cry.

The hands that produce our food is also an insaan

What an irony, Lal Bahadur Shastri once said,

“Jai jawan, Jai Kisan”.

A better tomorrow do I wish to see

A bright sunshine for my children too.

Mere facebook post and a candle march, won’t make a happy me.

Bhagat singh once said,”inqilab zindabad”.

Need of India is one more inquilab

Right from Assam to Hyderabad.

“Why can’t we live on land”? Asked a little fish

Honest was the reply of his mother

“We're fish and there resides sel-fish”.

Wish I could roam free

Wish there was only one way

A happy you and me.
