When Life loved Death
When Life loved Death
"What makes you feel alive?"
Death asked life
"I feel" she answered politely
Death pondered much and asked again
"What else? "
"I love," She said
"Do you feel me too? " Death did ask
"Yes I do, taunting me night and day
However hard I try,
You never go away."
"Love me, do you then? "
Death wanted to know.
"Maybe just a little now,
But in time may be much more"
Life shyly said.
So Death and Life, a love story
Did they begin.
And Death loved Life,
His love growing deep within.
Life, her love for Death did show
And in Death's eyes
Did his love for Life glow.
Then one fateful day
Death in his utmost love for Life
Swept her off her feet
For his Creator back home to meet.
Life willingly embraced Death
For they both did not know
That after that loving embrace
Life would live no more.
So in pure anguish
Death wanders by,
In his darkened world
Waiting,
Searching
For his true love, Life
So every other Life he sees,
He thinks is his.
So taunt them and take them does he
Hoping to find his Life
A love to set him free.
