Waves
Waves

Deep inside the silent ocean
Hides the most powerful of waves
On a calm day, when I walk on wet sands
Its frothy white frills
Tickle my toes
Sending warm shivers up my spine
The waves become bolder
And come crashing
Washing away the sands
Under my unsuspecting feet
Throwing me off balance, mildly
But on an unexpected serene Sunday
When I feel relaxed and in control
Fresh tsunami waves
Of grief
Hit me with a vengeance
Without a warning
Sweeping me off my feet
Flooding me
With an unfathomable sense of loss
An unending void
