Unfaithful Parting
Unfaithful Parting
He had committed to staying,
At our first meeting in May.
We would love, he did vow;
With a nod and bow!
But, he was worst of them all,
And culpability’s mine, for I did fall.
Now he’s done, long gone;
Leaving me all alone!
Our exquisite seven years,
We devoted to subjugate fears.
Some were his and some mine;
And I don’t lie- I'm nor fine!
Oh! His weeny puppy eyes,
You know the jittery of mice.
He no longer bolts along the porch;
Scuttling from the sun’s scorch!
He looked cadaverous and pale,
And no longer wagged his tail.
There he laid, corpse-like;
Blockhead didn’t see that bike!
For them speed always thrills;
But through the way, it kills.
He had laid in the gush of blood;
And my tears brought the flood!
