Unconditional Love

 They looked at each other and sighed, 

This new issue they had to take it in their stride;

Like all siblings, they fought and bickered incessantly,

But when needed, they were there for each other unfailingly!

 

Growing up was fun, with him two years her younger,

She was the undisputed leader and he the follower;

But the tables soon turned as they shot up in height,

He then outgrew in brawn and strength, much to her plight!

 

Always studious and sincere he scored major brownie points,

She the 'happy-go-lucky' threw their parents totally out of joint;

Not only others, but teachers too looked at them in wonder;

Seeing their bewilderment, she was sure they were perplexed whether God had blundered!

 

College world was different for both  from the word go,

While he saw it as an opportunity to build and grow, she just went with the flow;

She chose performing arts over the elders decrees and books,

At last, she had found her groove and got her finger in the hook! 

 

Now with their parents, they both fused as one,

They gave him their ear; after all, he was their son;

Discussing and arguing the evening progressed,

It is her life and her choice, he earnestly stressed!

 

Looking at him with love shining out of her eyes,

She thanked God for a sibling so wise;

Her partner in crime could be so mature, she never would have guessed,

To have each other's back and support, surely they were most blessed?
