Tree of thoughts and Me

Long ago I sowed a thought in my yard,

And nurtured it with all my heart,

Every leaf spoke of my dreams

Every branch sang of my aims.

        At every stage it gave me shade,

        With love and care,

        It spread its branches,

        To the sky as if to dare,

        Anyone who would come near,

        To touch a fruit or a leaf.

Then with time,

I lost sight of it,

I missed being in its shade,

I missed being a part of it,

I missed sleeping on its wings.

        With the world around me,

        With all my ideas and dreams,

        Being a reality,  

        I forgot the inspiration,

        From the tree that I got,

        The loving branches,

        And the thoughts,

        That were sown.

Until one day,

I came back tired,

Full of anguish and tears,

I saw the tree,

Like me bent and tired,

I went in,

Brought back with me,

Thought to serve,

My dreams and aims,

A hope to nurture,

The tree of my dreams,

And never to let it,

Wither ever again.
